@risenwater @FransBakker9812 I’m not saying they should only think about the current year. They expect the share price to be higher next year, and if they don’t need the money this year, why not do the offering then, with much better terms and potentially less dilution?

We built a way to explore everything that's been entered into evidence for the Musk v. Altman trial. Greg's journal. Texts between Elon and Sam. OpenAI's LP agreement and more. All at our latest drop: evidence.mts.now

I'm back in Austin three years after spending my first day at @xai here. On the flight I thought about all the decisions I made during that time - many of which were actually poor. I compiled a selection below.

Sam Altman doubts Elon Musk's idea of building data centers in space. "Good luck with that. I don't even think he's that serious about it."

.@adcock_brett on why he fired OpenAI from @Figure_robot: "It got to a point where our team internally that was designing these models were running circles around OpenAI." "I think there was also some interest as OpenAI was watching us getting into robotics. So I fired them."
Molly O’Shea@MollySOShea

NEW: Brett Adcock, CEO of Figure Full Interview At a $39 billion valuation, Figure has raised nearly $2 billion in just 4 years to build general-purpose humanoid robots designed to perform real work at scale. We go deep on the progress, what’s working today, the biggest challenges ahead, & the biggest misconceptions about robotics. Plus: • ~50% of global GDP = human labor • Why this is a $30–40T labor opportunity • Scaling to thousands → millions of robots • “This is an intelligence problem” • Why they walked away from OpenAI @adcock_brett @Figure_robot 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐒 (00:00) Brett Adcock, Founder & CEO at Figure (01:13) Hot take on Humanoids (teleoperated?) @na_option They had a $1,000 (base) price target for 2025 and $1,533 for 2026… Halve their targets (at least) and they’d be much more realistic. So $1,300 for 2029

@TheLaurenChen Blue doesn't kill, red does. If more than 50% push the blue button, everyone survives. So unless you want people to get killed, just push blue. It’s not hard.

Reading people's justifications for pushing the blue button is actually spiking my cortisol levels If everybody pushes red - nothing happens! So why on earth would anyone press blue? It's a needless gamble, but it's being painted as the altruistic decision for some reason

But they're not actively developing the Model 3/Y either. Those cars have barely changed in 6+ years.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

Jason Cammisa on part of the reason why @Tesla is discontinuing the Model S/X (in his interpretation): "The cost to reengineer the Model S to continue to comply with all safety and crash regulations would be greater than to start over, and I think that's a dying segment, the luxury car segment. You can look at the volumes of the Model 3/Y, and you see you're better off spending the money on developing those." (via The Carmudgeon Show). Full podcast linked below:

DLSS 5 is all over the timeline, and for good reason. In my internship at @AIatMeta we had the same idea: use a video model as a learned second-stage renderer on top of game engines. In our paper RealMaster, we make synthetic video look real while preserving scene fidelity 👇
