Tonight as Yom HaShoah begins, we mourn the more than 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust at the hands of the Nazis.
As Holocaust denialism continues to rise, it is more important than ever that we state loudly and clearly: the Holocaust happened. It was real, and we have a responsibility both to learn from this dark chapter of our history so we never repeat it and to combat the rising antisemitism we see around us.
Here in Pennsylvania, we will continue to make sure students learn about the Holocaust in our classrooms, strengthen our hate crime laws, and create a Commonwealth where all people are safe and welcome. #NeverForget

Isn’t it interesting how, when Hezbollah launches thousands of missiles and suicide drones at Israeli civilians, the world looks away?
But the moment Israel responds to that terror, everyone is frothing at the mouth.
Just today, on Shabbat, they fired nonstop all day at northern communities. And they’ve been terrorizing them for over two years, since October 8, 2023.
Hezbollah chose to join the war, both last month with Iran and after October 7 with Hamas.
What is Israel supposed to do?

My family fled the Islamic Regime because of religious persecution. We lost everything, came to America with nothing, and rebuilt our lives from scratch.
But because I am Jewish, DEI labels me “white” and “privileged.”
Qassem Soleimani’s niece is a Regime loyalist who allegedly lied about needing asylum so she could live a lavish life with money stolen from the Iranian people.
But because she is an Iranian Muslim, DEI labels her “brown” and “oppressed.”
Only in the twisted DEI version of ‘equity’ does the victim of persecution get labeled privileged…while the Regime loyalist gets labeled oppressed.
And under Mamdani’s “racial equity” plan, I would pay a higher tax rate than someone like Soleimani’s niece.
This isn't social justice. It's race-based discrimination dressed up as fairness.

When I talk about the secret October 7 film of Hamas atrocities the IDF shows people, I inevitably have nightmares about it.
There’s a segment of the movie where Palestinians descend on a Jew they murdered the way my four dogs might descend on a piece of dropped hot dog.
Eyes shining, smiles bright, they proceed to mutilate and dismember the body with their bare hands. One Palestinian takes a bloody, ripped off Jewish limb and holds it over his head with pride, the way a child might hold a spelling bee trophy.
Blood splatters as the Palestinians merrily work. That’s what I dreamed about last night. Again.
So many people’s analysis of this conflict is fundamentally wrong. The people I can’t forgive are my fellow Democrats, who should know very well, some people are so bigoted they are willing to kill. This is the entire basis of the important work we’ve done legislatively protecting women, gay people and Black people.
I don’t understand why my party’s sympathies land with the terrorists over their victims. I think every single person willing to whitewash Hamas should have to see the film I did.

Ceasefire isn’t the same thing as peace.
Peace means rebuilding our homes, knowing they won’t be bombed again.
Peace means sending our kids to school, knowing they’ll be safe.
Peace means planning for the future with hope, not fear.
Israelis may be resilient in the face of war. Hopeful for the respite of ceasefire.
But we deserve peace. That’s what we want.
It always has been.

While the world’s attention is elsewhere, Hamas is quietly admitting how many “innocent Palestinian civilians” were Hamas commanders after all. Doctors, journalists, old men… and the world keeps falling for it.
Aizenberg@Aizenberg55
🧵An IDF strike on the Abu Musa home in Gaza on Nov 9, 2023 was reported as killing civilians including a Sheikh. But Hamas now admits the “Sheikh” was a Qassam Commander; the family confirms another member was also a combatant. This is the second Sheikh combatant revealed. 1/

BREAKING: The ICC is moving forward with disciplinary proceedings against Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan.
Remember Karim Khan?
The one who told a woman accusing him of rape to “think about the Palestinian arrest warrants,” pressuring her to drop the charges.
Now, the International Criminal Court is finally taking steps.
It’s about time the world knew that Karim Khan is accused of sexually assaulting women working for him, and of using his case against Israel to try to cover it up and pressure his accusers into silence.

@JonahPlatt monologue on Ms. Rachel’s overt antisemitism and her attempts to whitewash the same is a masterclass in how to expose such folks. Analytical, data laden, and smart.

What gives these clowns the confidence and fatuous self-righteousness to speak with such authority on a subject they know literally nothing about?
Do they do this on every issue, or just on the great moral demand of the age to hate a particular nation?
Israel got the jump on the Egyptians, true, after they placed a naval blockade on Eilat, kicked out international peacekeepers, massed troops on the border and had their state radio announce that war was imminent.
The blockade wasn’t an inconvenience, it was an existential threat. 90% of Israel’s oil came from Iran through the Port of Eilat in those years. Israel had oil reserves for maybe a few weeks, and then the country would start running out of fuel, including for tanks and planes.
The blockade was a deliberate strangulation that would very quickly have reduced Israel’s capacity to actually fight a war.
And it was deliberately intended to be a casus belli. Golda Meir in 1957 announced that the blockade of Tiran would constitute a casus belli for Israel. Nasser was challenging that claim. He knew that Israel now faced a choice: See its fuel supply dwindle to dangerously low levels, or respond with force.
In other words, the blockade was the start of the war.
But you know what? We don’t actually have to get this complicated. Because the 67 war had three fronts. And on the other two, it was the Arab side that started the shooting — in the simplest, most literal sense. Jordan on the eastern front and Syria in the north.
Israel even politely asked the Jordanians not to attack, and Egypt had to lie to the Jordanians about the state of its military to convince them to enter the war.
So to recap, on two of three major fronts, the Arab states attacked first. And only on the southern front, after absorbing numerous dramatic casus belli — aggressive actions that directly threatened Israel’s capacity to defend itself — did Israel pull the trigger first.
And given that history, would a rational person still characterize Bill Maher’s description as “one hundred percent false?”
Keith Orejel@keithdorejel
This is one hundred percent false. Israel launched an attack on Arab neighbors in 1967 starting the Six Days War. This idiot wants to lecture kids and he doesn’t know a goddamn thing, just spouting rank propaganda.
