@VictoriaTheTech I could bet a dollar there’s already a pilot program where middle schoolers are dual enrolled to earn a BS in (“Allen Iverson”) when they graduate from high school and those kiddos will 1) fortunately be degreed but many 2) will not like it all b/c no meaningful exposure 🫤

Not alarming (to me). Internships have become much more difficult to obtain. Externships are gaining in popularity though and idk how I feel about that because it’s giving “Contract Rehire > FTE” or “put kid on high school waitlist while in preschool” hunger games vibes.

@resplendentmoi And I’m not upset or disappointed they didn’t choose to go the CS route, it’s just that the foundation was laid for them to continue with CS regarding a internships, a job, etc but after shadowing (because there were no internships!) realized it wasn’t for them and changed paths.

@resplendentmoi I once straight up asked a 17 year old what they were going do with their associates degree in computer science that they obtained via dual enrollment. This was about 5 years ago. The student is now 22 and is going to school to be a vet tech. Like…what are we doing here? 😂

@pectinate_claw THIS. Many folks think going to community college will magically grant them an associates degree and then they’ll slide right into the last two years of their bachelors degree. That’s not how it works in most cases. There are some schools that don’t even take certain AP credit!!

I e got some bad news about the transferability of community college courses, and of the rigidity of many college programs. Research carefully or those CC classes will add years to your degree.

Madrid is hands down my FAVORITE city. Kourtney has only been to an Air Force base in Spain (Rota) when she was a service member, so this will be her first time not here for work.
I also found out she has never had a mango Jarritos before?! So I fixed that immediately!

@mariannwolfebe1 They’re definitely a “must do” for us! Museé d’Orsay (amazing impressionism collection, as well as many statues and sculptures) and Museé de l’Orangerie (where Monet’s “lily room” resides) you can get as a package deal” where it’s both museums for just 20 euro a person.
