🇺🇬 Daniel Katerega (@dkateregga9) has declared his bid for Male Athletes’ Representative on the #UgandaRugby ExCom. He represents a generation still actively living the game, bringing current player realities into the conversation.
Katerega currently features for @victoria_sharks & previously played for @BuffaloesRFC
With @VUKampala, he is a three-time Varsity 7s winner and a bronze medalist at the 2023 @fasuafrica 7s
His journey began in schools rugby, including Schools Nationals and the East Africa Games, with time at Laiser Hill Academy (Nairobi), Kololo SS & Jinja SS.
He serves as a rugby head coach at London College of St. Lawrence & holds a World Rugby Level 1 coaching qualification.
His candidacy blends playing experience, grassroots involvement, and a direct understanding of athlete needs, a combination he now hopes to take into rugby leadership.

Creation of an 8-member Athletes’ Commission (4 men, 4 women) 2. Addition of 2 presidential appointees (1 male, 1 female) 3. Election of a Chairperson & Secretary who will sit directly on ExCom 4. The final approval will be at the URU AGM on 1st May 2026
