FIFA painted over a beautiful, long-standing mural in Downtown Dallas. It was gifted to the city by marine life artist & conservationist Wyland in the 90s as a reminder to protect our beloved oceans. What an unnecessary loss, especially given no matches are actually in Dallas.

@zachklein there should be several free and easy dumpsters where people can take stuff in the city (vs drive south to recology and pay $65). would cut down on a % of this behavior and be cheaper in terms of less clean up time.

SF public spaces are a shared asset, and right now the cost of damaging them is too abstract. For everyday violations like littering, tagging, or not picking up after a dog, the response should be direct: required community service focused on cleaning and restoring the same spaces. If you impact it, you help fix it.
