Congratulations to our fifth and final @wcpsmd Teacher of the Year finalist, Caitlin Keller! She is a teacher at Boonsboro Middle School in our Connections program and now a two-time finalist.

Congratulations to Angie Stouffer, our next @wcpsmd Teacher of the Year finalist! She is a Science teacher at Smithsburg High School, and a three-time finalist for this award.

Our third @wcpsmd Teacher of the Year finalist is Ashley Doyle, one of the Health Professions teachers at Boyd J. Michael, III Technical High School! Congratulations!

Our next @wcpsmd Teacher of the Year finalist is from Clear Spring High School, Robin Papa! We got to surprise this Math teacher during her Honors Algebra II class!

We are announcing our @wcpsmd Teacher of the Year finalists this morning! First up – Kaelii Boyer, a 1st grade teacher at Clear Spring Elementary!

Rounding out our @wcpsmd Gold Compass honorees is Nicole Rhodes, 3rd grade teacher at Lincolnshire Elementary. Her dedication to positive relationships, continuous learning, and community involvement reflects our core values of Academic Excellence, Growth Mindset, and Community.

Congratulations to Rachel Dayley, Multilingual Lead Teacher at South High! This @wcpsmd Gold Compass honoree is recognized for leading impactful professional learning for staff & her positive presence throughout the school. She exemplifies Engagement, Growth Mindset, & Belonging.

Gavin Myers is our next @wcpsmd Gold Compass honoree! He is the Asst. Principal at Eastern Elementary, & he recently served as Acting Principal. He supported students & kept the school community moving forward. His leadership demonstrates Growth Mindset, Belonging, & Well-being.

Congrats to Nicole Nicarry, LPN at Marshall Street School! This @wcpsmd Gold Compass Award honoree is recognized for creating a caring environment & ensuring students feel safe & supported with their health each day. She demonstrates Growth Mindset, Belonging, & Well-being.

Summit Teacher Tim Sowell from Jonathan Hager Elementary is our next @wcpsmd Gold Compass honoree. He challenges students, makes learning fun, and ensures every student feels included. He exemplifies our Core Values of Engagement, Growth Mindset, and Belonging.

Congratulations to Dan Martin, Custodial Engineer II at Williamsport High – a @wcpsmd Gold Compass honoree. He’s recognized for his hard work to help make sure the school was safe & welcoming when it reopened this year. He demonstrates our Core Values of Belonging & Well-being.

Washington County Public Schools will dismiss students two (2) hours early today, Friday, February 6, 2026. All after-school and evening activities are canceled. The YMCA will NOT be operating their after-school daycare programs at WCPS school sites.

All Washington County Public Schools and offices will open on a normal schedule tomorrow, Monday, February 2, 2026. Some alternate bus stops remain in effect. Visit wcpsmd.com/roads for details. Families will be notified when routes return to normal.
