West Deptford PD proudly hosted the kickoff for the 2025 Police Unity Tour — We proudly held reflection in memory of Lt. Kenneth Dechen (West Deptford PD) & Sergeant Robert Shisler (Deptford PD), whose legacy lives on through their families, friends, & all who wear the badge.

Earlier today, we celebrated the graduation of two of the newest members to our West Deptford Police Department K9 Unit!! Congratulations to K9 Officer Nicholas and his partner K-9 Zinc as well as K9 Officer Shisler and his K9 partner Lek!

Today, we remember and honor the ultimate sacrifice made by Police Officer Robert "Bobby" Shisler of the Deptford Township Police Department. We extend our deepest condolences to the Shisler family. Rest easy, Officer Shisler. We have the watch from here.

We had a great day today in Elk Twp for their Law Enforcement Appreciation Day with the Aura Elementary School! Thank you for the invite & we’d be happy to accept the invite again next year! And in case you were wondering Detective Jiles lost that round of Rock, Paper, Scissors!

❗️❗️The West Deptford Police Department proudly announces the retirement of K9 Officer Joseph Lamalfa. We sincerely thank K9 Officer Lamalfa and his family for all of the sacrifices they have made during his career. We wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement. Congrats!❗️❗️

We were happy to support Wheels of Change located in the Gateway Shopping Center.  They accept donations of a variety of items & are a resource center for families & people in need.  They offer a range of essential items including clothing, personal hygiene products, food & more.

Everyone had a fantastic time at “Take Your Child to Work Day”! They squeezed a lot into one day w/presentations from Gloucester County SWAT, the WDPD K-9 Unit, & WDFD. A special thank you to RiverWinds Community Center for hosting the event & we can’t wait for next year!

We had a blast hosting Girl Scout Troop #61543 for a tour of our station. We shared some insights into police work, answered their questions, & even got to do some fun activities. It's a pleasure to connect with the young members of our community & build positive relationships!

The West Deptford PD has yet again taken part in a collaboration with Oakview and West Deptford High School. Here is a sneak peek of our “Ask-A-Cop” session with all of the kindergarten classes. We all had a blast and are excited to see the final results. Stay tuned!

The weather is taking a turn and during this time of year, we typically see a large uptick in stolen and/or burglarized motor vehicles. To help prevent these occurrences, please follow the simple rules below to deter these criminals!

Patrol officers located the dog in the area of the 500 block of Red Bank Ave. At this time, it is currently at police headquarters. Animal Control was contacted to take custody of the dog if the owner is not found. 856-845-2300 to contact West Deptford Police. Please share!

Today the law enforcement community mourned the loss of yet another one of our members. Some of our officers traveled to Newark (NJ) after the tragic killing of Detective Joseph Azcona of the Newark Police Department that occurred on March 7th. Rest in peace Detective Azcona.
