Some good news the morning, showers are working in from the west! The Brantley County fire is at about 22,600 acres and is 32% contained. The fire in Clinch/Echols County has grown to over 32,500 acres and is 23% contained. Friendly reminder, a burn ban is still in effect

We are already seeing a few spotty showers this morning, with more moisture moving in from the west.

Temperatures will dip below average as our chance for rain peaks on Saturday!

Highs will be warmer this afternoon compared to yesterday, but no rain is in the forecast.

We should have good viewing conditions along the coast for this evening’s launch from Cape Canaveral. Amazon is sending up 29 communication satellites. The launch window is from 8:52-9:21PM. There is a 75% chance for favorable weather conditions.

Temperatures will be a bit below average today, but warmer air returns on Wednesday.

The Brantley County fire has grown to about ~20,900 acres and is less than 10% contained. The fire in Clinch/Echols County is around 32,000 acres and is 10% contained. The wind is pushing everything toward the coast this morning, but will be from the north most of the day.

The Brantley County fire is at about 5,500 acres and is 15% contained. The fire in Clinch/Echols County has grown to over 32,000 acres and is only 10% contained. The wind will be from the south to start, pushing smoke north again today.

Drought conditions continue to worsen across Georgia and South Carolina. Savannah is almost at a 9" rainfall deficit for the year.

The fire in Clinch/Echols County has grown to over 29,000 acres & is only 10% contained. The Brantley County fire is at ~4,400 acres & is 15% contained. The wind will be from the south, pushing smoke north again. The thickest smoke will be over our inland communities.

Wildfire smoke will be present again today. The wind could push the smoke from the south back toward Savannah midday. The biggest fire is in Brantley County, at about 5,000 acres and only ~10% containment. The fire near Baxley is around 40 acres in size, but mostly contained.

Air quality isn’t the best today due to wildfire smoke. 🔥 The smoke will linger near the coast this morning, pushing inland this afternoon and evening. Please don’t burn . High pressure overhead will keep smoke near the surface when the wind dies down.
