@wadebaker ah, got it. I wasn't clear on what "hardest hit" means in this case, and I agree that the publicly available sample of losses is probably similar to the actual distribution, although events may not be.

@RobTerrin Definitely think this reflects what’s on the public record. But I don’t see any evidence it’s not directionally accurate. Minor events that don’t cause observable disruptions or trigger disclosure are underrepresented. But those prob aren’t “hitting hardest” anyway.

@wadebaker To what degree do you think this data reflects is a result of the publicly-known part versus actual loss incidence? Given that the Advisen data set is pretty driven by outlier events, do you think we can draw any reasonable conclusions about who is and isn't getting ransomwared?
