Muslims in Toronto and around the world are gathering to mark Eid al-Adha - a sacred holiday that marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage and offers an opportunity to reflect on the values of faith, compassion, and peace. To everyone celebrating, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and meaningful Eid al-Adha. Eid Mubarak!

As members of Toronto’s Muslim community gather today for Friday prayers, I recognize for many it’ll be with a heavy heart after the deplorable attack in San Diego earlier this week. To everyone who is grieving and mourning, I want to extend my sincerest thoughts and solidarity to you and your loved ones. Violence against any place of worship is evil and must always be unequivocally condemned. If elected Mayor, I pledge to work with TPS to always ensure that all of our citizens, of all faiths, are protected from such horrors.

Eid is a time of celebration, reflection, gratitude, and community.  This morning, I joined the Muslim community in Scarborough for an Eid prayer marking the end of Ramadan. It was a meaningful opportunity to be with community members, to listen to their aspirations and concerns and to recognize the traditions and values that bring people together across our great city. Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating across Toronto! ☪️

On January 29 we remember the victims of the Quebec City mosque attack. We commit to standing up to Islamophobia and hate in all its forms so nothing like this repeats ever again. #GreenSquareCampaign

Quelle tristesse! Sinon, on annonce l’«invasion». Quelle tristesse!

While not the result we wanted it’s important that we look ahead. Congratulations to Jessica and all the other candidates who put their names on the ballot to run for public office. Jessica, I wish you the best of luck in representing our incredible constituency. To the volunteers who have assisted me throughout this campaign, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the time and dedication you’ve poured into my campaign over the past few months. Campaigns would not be possible without people like you and the support you bring to the table. Your support will never be forgotten. To my staff, who have worked long days both locally and in Ottawa to support me in representing our incredible constituency over the past four years, thank your service and dedication. Your support in assisting my constituents is one of the highest forms of public service and I would not have been able to do this without you. I could not have asked for a better team to help me through this journey. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve our community. Thank you South Shore–St. Margeret’s for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to be your trusted voice and representative. Sincerely, Rick.

It’s the 8th anniversary of the tragic Quebec City mosque incident where 8 men were murdered while in prayer. I ask my friends in politics and the media to commemorate this moment. I am doing so by wearing a green square.🟩 May those men rest in peace.

Walied, were you not the Campaign Chair for Erin that came out publicly with 5 hours left to go in the polls in 2021 to say the CPC were losing AND it was not your fault. As volunteers and candidates across the country were pulling vote after an exhausting campaign. I need no lessons in leadership from you.

To all the young people involved in @CPC_HQ, and politics in Canada generally, this is exactly how not to behave in those inevitably fleeting moments when you feel you are on top. Be humble in leadership. Jenni, as one of our party’s current leaders, you should take this down.
Jenni Byrne@Jenni_Byrne

For anyone unsure why Erin is no longer Leader of the Conservative Party… She supported DEI policies like name, rank, and pronouns. Tampons in men’s rooms, etc… 👇🏻

I saw this terrible post last night and paused with sadness. Husien has been a volunteer for @PierrePoilievre and @PeterMacKay and many others over the years. He is also Muslim. I am Muslim. @MacLeodLisa, retract this nonsense and be better.

@samoosterhoff @McMasterU Sam, this gives me incredible happiness for you and your family. I remember when you were first nominated. I had a very paternal but silent fear of what would come of your continued education. You have made your family and all your friends proud.
