Jumping for Joy We are thrilled to share some incredible news! Our recent secondary school inspection has been a resounding success, achieving an outstanding evaluation across four key areas.

She narrowly missed out on an individual medal in the 100m fly finishing 4th and had a number of other top 10 finishes throughout the five days of competition.

Congratulations to Robyn Maxwell who recently competed in Aberdeen at the National Swimming Championships for Dumfries ASC. She was a member of the 14-16 girls 4x200m Freestyle relay who won gold and she also won a bronze medal in the 4x100m Medley.

Last week, during the sunny days, Mrs Linh's S1 classes had a chance to try "pétanque", a popular traditional French game similar to bowls. Pétanque is a precision sport that is played by throwing a boule made of metal at a target which is a small wooden ball (called a jack).

We had an overall winner, sponsored by SRUC Barony, and individual winners from each team. Well done to them all for putting in the effort to showcase what the Young Agri Leader course has given them the confidence to do.

A scary thought, but one the group stepped up to and delivered with confidence, despite the nerves! Huge thanks goes to our judges: 🌾 John Magill - SRUC 🌾 Andrew Marchant - Tarff Valley 🌾 John Maxwell - Hayfield Farm 🌾 Holly Fisher - SRUC

🚜 *YOUNG AGRI LEADERS* 🚜 The course came to an end with the *Agri Affairs* unit which was delivered in partnership with @SRUC . Pupils were challenged to research and investigate a current topic, and then present it to a panel of industry professionals for interrogation!

Wishing all our pupils the very best of luck as exam season continues. As our S6 leavers sign out, we’re proud of everything you’ve achieved and excited to see where your next chapter takes you.

"Mrs B" is living her best life making honey for the bees! 🤣🐝

Some S1 and S2 Biology groups have been learning about asexual reproduction in plants and have been busy planting bulbs and tubers (onions and potatoes!) in the school garden. They even managed to save a struggling bee by feeding it some of our dandelion honey.

This event is for current S1, S2 and S3 pupils and P7 pupils who are coming to the academy in August. But, anyone wanting to know more about dyslexia is welcome to attend.

🌎We marked Earth Day on April 22nd with a "look out for the Earth" challenge and an Earth Day Tree for students to make pledges about how they might make choices to protect the environment in 2026.🌎

🦌 *AGRI LINKS* 🦌 Mrs Marchant’s S4 Agri Links group have done it again! They have planned, coordinated and delivered a class lesson and farm trip for Miss Young’s S2 Business class.
