France just became #1 in something nobody wants. Crypto kidnappings! Let that sink in. Latest case: a family targeted, father beaten, tied up. Mother and 11-year-old son kidnapped. Ransom: $400,000 in crypto. Not random. Not luck. They knew how much he held. And that’s the real story. Because this is not an isolated case anymore: - 1 attack in 2024 - 20 in 2025 - 19 already in early 2026 - One every ~5 days - ~70% of global physical crypto attacks France is now the global hotspot. So we have to ask the uncomfortable question: How do criminals know who to target? Somewhere, somehow: - KYC databases - exchange data - leaked personal information - or over-collection of sensitive data becomes intelligence for criminals. And at the same time? New proposals: - declare self-custodied wallets above €5,000 - report holdings annually Let’s be clear. The intention is understandable: taxation, compliance and oversight. But the outcome? More centralized databases, more sensitive data and more potential leaks. And in the physical world… data = targeting! This is the paradox: the systems built to “protect” can quietly make people more exposed. Crypto was supposed to remove trust in intermediaries. But if interacting with it requires putting your identity, your holdings, and your activity into multiple databases…what exactly are we improving? Security can be translated into minimizing attack surfaces. Because the real risk is no longer just online. It’s at your door.

The SEC just said something… very interesting. And if you’re building in crypto, you should probably pay attention. For the first time, the SEC is giving real clarity on a key question: Do crypto interfaces need to register as brokers? Short answer: Not necessarily. If you’re just building a tool (a wallet interface, a DEX frontend, a routing interface…) and you: - don’t take custody - don’t give advice - don’t push specific trades - don’t control execution then you might not be considered a broker. Let that sink in. Because this draws a line we’ve been waiting for: Tool vs intermediary. If you’re a neutral interface → you’re a tool. If you influence decisions → you’re a broker. Simple in theory. Very powerful in practice. This is big for DeFi. Because it implicitly recognizes something: - users can interact with markets directly - interfaces can remain non-custodial - not everything needs to be wrapped into traditional finance categories But (there’s always a but…) this comes with conditions: - full transparency - no hidden incentives - no “best route” manipulation - clear disclosures everywhere In short: neutrality must be provable. And here’s the interesting part for us in Europe: while the US is slowly clarifying what not to regulate… Europe is still figuring out what to include! MiCA. CASPs. Interfaces. Wallets. The lines are still… blurry. So the real question becomes: Will regulation adapt to the architecture? Or force the architecture to adapt to regulation? Because what we’re seeing here is a shift in mindset: from controlling intermediaries to understanding systems without intermediaries. And that’s where things get really interesting. 🧡

About last night. 🧡 This time, Letz OffChain landed at La Taperia. And honestly… what a spot! Amazing food, super nice vibes and a terrace that needs to be tried when the weather will be warmer! Highly recommended. Even without Innopay (for now 👀), the OffChain energy was exactly what you’d expect. Full table. New faces. Great mix of people. And conversations going… everywhere. From markets to life choices, from random ideas to serious discussions. Always different. Always inspiring. But let’s be honest… La Taperia + Innopay would be a dangerous combo. Because the advantages are too good, as the food there! - No payment fees (no 1–3% disappearing on every transaction) - Better margins for the owner - Built-in CRM to understand and retain customers - Smoother ordering experience through the menu system - Less chaos, more efficiency (for both customers and staff) But we’re curious… What advantages would you add to the list? You remember more from the Innopay page posts? Drop them in the comments! And if you still don't follow the Innopay page, make sure to start now! Next stop: Brasserie Millewee, Tuesday, April 21 from 19! Back to it. Back together. We can’t wait. 🧡

Something big just happened in Luxembourg. 🧡 And most people will miss why it matters. For the first time, a single player now holds: - a banking licence - an EMT (stablecoin) licence - a CASP (crypto) licence All in one place. This can be defined as convergence. For years, finance has been split into boxes: banks on one side, payments in the middle and crypto somewhere else. Different rules. Different systems. Different worlds. That separation is breaking. And this is what it looks like when it does. Because what Banking Circle is building is clearly infrastructure. Infrastructure where fiat becomes programmable, stablecoins become usable and crypto becomes integrated. All under a regulated framework. This is where things get interesting. Because the real question is no longer: “Will crypto be regulated?” But rather: “Who will be able to operate across all layers?” Banking. Payments. Tokenized money. Few players can touch all three. Now one can. And for Luxembourg? This is a signal. The game is no longer simply attracting players. It got focused on enabling full-stack financial ecosystems. The lines are blurring. Quietly. But fast. And if you’re still thinking in silos… You’re already late. 🧡

Tuesday is the new Thursday. 🧡 And tomorrow… we take Letz OffChain somewhere new! - La Taperia - Limpertsberg - Tuesday, April 14 - From 19:00 A Spanish spot this time. New table. Same energy. This one is a bit different. Innopay is not live there… yet. But let’s be honest, that’s never been the point. The point is the people. The conversations. The atmosphere that somehow forms every single Tuesday. And who knows… If the vibes hit the right way, maybe La Taperia becomes the next place where Innopay goes live. 😉 Every week feels like a new adventure. New faces. Familiar ones. Different backgrounds, same curiosity. One minute we’re talking markets, the next geopolitics, then life decisions, business ideas… or something completely unexpected. Especially now, when the world feels a bit heavier, markets a bit more uncertain… it’s good to have a place where things stay human. A table where you can just show up, be yourself, and grow, together. So if you haven’t joined yet, tomorrow is a good start. - Tuesday, April 14 - 19:00 - La Taperia, Limpertsberg Come for the tapas. Stay for the people. Leave with something you didn’t expect. See you there. 🧡

Crypto just entered geopolitics. For real. 🧡 Iran is now charging tolls in crypto for ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz. Let that sink in. A global trade chokepoint… monetized on crypto rails. We’re talking about: - Up to $2M per vessel - Potentially $20M per day - Payments in Bitcoin, USDT, or yuan (outside SWIFT) All settled fast, borderless, and hard to intercept. This is a first: - A nation-state using crypto as a real-time revenue system - Outside traditional banking - Outside Western control And this changes the game. Because for years, crypto was seen as: an asset, a speculation tool, maybe a payment method. But now? It’s becoming financial infrastructure for sovereignty. Let’s be clear: The topic here is power. When a country under sanctions can collect revenue, bypass correspondent banks, settle instantly and enforce it physically (navy escorts), you’re no longer in theory. You’re in execution. And here’s the uncomfortable question: Who is really ahead here? Because while some were busy debating regulation frameworks… others were building parallel systems. Crypto doesn’t care about narratives. It cares about use cases. And this might be one of the most brutal ones we’ve seen so far. From DeFi… to geopolitics. From experiments… to leverage. The future of money will be strategic. And it’s already happening. 🧡

Who really controls finance in Europe? A new battle is quietly unfolding. Not on markets. Not on charts. But on who gets to regulate them. Luxembourg and Ireland, two pillars of Europe’s financial infrastructure, are now facing pressure from larger EU states to shift supervision to Esma (Paris). At first glance, it sounds technical. It’s not. It's control. It's national expertise vs centralised authority. Local ecosystems vs one-size-fits-all regulation. Flexibility vs uniformity. And here’s the reality: Luxembourg and Ireland probably can’t stop it. But they might not need to. Because in Europe, power is rarely about blocking. It bases on shaping, narrowing scope, negotiating thresholds and building alliances. In short: pragmatism over ideology. And this is where things get interesting for us. Because while traditional finance is fighting over funds and market infrastructure… crypto is entering the conversation! CASPs. MiCA. Pan-European licenses. All of this could eventually fall under similar dynamics. Which raises a bigger question: If regulation becomes more centralised… who really benefits? And more importantly: Will innovation follow regulation… or move elsewhere? We’re already seeing signals. New jurisdictions stepping up. New players choosing different paths. Europe is building. But it’s also competing, internally. For Luxembourg, the challenge is clear: stay relevant, stay attractive and play the game smart. Because in this system… you don’t win by saying no. You win by losing less than others. And that’s exactly where the next chapter will be decided. 🧡

Building together, locally. 🧡 Luxembourg is a small country. Which means one thing: we either collaborate… or we don’t grow. That’s why we’re genuinely happy to share this: 🤝 OffChain Luxembourg × Servichain Following our January event at Qosqo, where ideas turned into real conversations, we’re now seeing things move forward. And OCLT is now live on Cauris Wallet! 🧡 A wallet built in Luxembourg. Integrated with Hive. Designed for simplicity. Making a signal. - The ecosystem in Luxembourg is alive - Players are building - And more importantly… they’re collaborating Because that’s how real adoption happens here. Not in isolation. But through aligned efforts, shared vision, and concrete actions. We’re proud to see a Luxembourgish wallet supporting OCLT. And even more excited about what comes next: - more integrations - more real-world usage - more events like the one we shared in January This is how we make an impact locally. And from there… beyond. Big thanks to Servichain for the trust and collaboration. 🧡 Let’s keep building.

Every time you pay by card at a restaurant, 1.5-3% of that transaction leaves the local economy. It goes to Visa. Mastercard. Payment processors. The restaurant sees none of it. The city sees none of it. Here's why that matters 🧵

Coinbase gets an EMI licence in Luxembourg. Another signal that the lines between crypto and traditional finance continue to blur. Coinbase Luxembourg SA has just been authorised by the CSSF as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) under Luxembourg’s payment services framework. And that matters. Until recently, most crypto companies operated mainly around trading infrastructure. An EMI licence moves things into a different territory: payments. It means the ability to issue and manage electronic money, execute credit transfers, and operate inside the same regulatory perimeter as other payment institutions in Europe. In other words, crypto companies are no longer only building exchanges. They are increasingly becoming part of the financial plumbing. And Luxembourg seems determined to be part of that evolution. The Grand Duchy has long positioned itself as a hub for regulated finance. Seeing global players anchor part of their European payment infrastructure here suggests that this strategy is continuing into the digital finance era. But this also highlights something important. The next phase of the crypto industry will be about infrastructure, regulation, and real-world integration. Trading platforms were the first chapter. Payments might be the next one. And that’s where things start getting interesting. Because the real question is no longer whether crypto exists. It’s how deeply it integrates into everyday financial systems. 🧡

About last night at Brasserie Millewee. 🧡 Another Tuesday, another Letz OffChain evening with the family. Great food, great drinks, amazing meat… but above all, a fantastic atmosphere around the table. Conversations flowing, ideas bouncing around, and a room full of curious minds. But last night also came with big news. Brasserie Millewee officially signed the partnership agreement to implement Innopay. After seeing how it works, Dacian, the owner, was genuinely impressed and decided to join the growing Innopay family. What does that mean for you? In the near future, Brasserie Millewee will have its own Innopay menu with QR codes, meaning you’ll be able to order and pay just like at Indie’s or Le Croque Bedaine: scan, order, pay, simple and instant. And of course… this raises the obvious question: Who’s next? If you have a place in mind, drop it in the comments or tag the owner. The Innopay family keeps growing. Beyond that, the discussions were as rich as always. One topic stood out thanks to two guests brought by Cristian: Vincent Fourcaut and David Latout, who are working on building what could become Luxembourg’s first crypto hedge fund. They are also the first client of 6Monks, which sparked a fascinating discussion around regulation, innovation, and what the next generation of crypto finance might look like in Luxembourg. Exactly the kind of conversations that make Letz OffChain special. Amazing night. Amazing people. But we’re already looking forward to the next one. Next Tuesday 17/03: Le Croque Bedaine, starting from 19.00. Who knows what stories, ideas, and surprises the next table will bring? See you there. 🧡

Tuesday is the new Thursday. 🧡 And tomorrow, we gather again. - Brasserie Millewee - Tuesday 09/03/2026 - From 19:00 Another Tuesday, another Letz OffChain. Which means one thing: a table full of curious people, good food, cold beers, and conversations that can go absolutely anywhere. Because that’s the magic of these evenings. One moment we’re talking about Bitcoin and market cycles, the next about AI writing code faster than startups can decide what to build, then suddenly someone brings up geopolitics, regulation, or the future of Europe’s financial infrastructure. And somehow it all makes sense. But above all, Letz OffChain is people. Entrepreneurs, builders, curious newcomers, travelers, and friends, all sitting at the same table sharing ideas, stories and perspectives you don’t usually find in everyday conversations. And of course… crypto is never far away. At Brasserie Millewee, you can already pay directly with crypto, thanks to Innopay. No complicated setup. No theory. Just a simple example of what happens when technology quietly enters everyday life. Real people. Real payments. Real places. So if you’ve been wondering what OffChain Luxembourg is really about, this is still the best way to find out. 🧡 Tuesday 09/03 - Brasserie Millewee - from 19:00 See you tomorrow 🧡
