Been thinking a lot about Falcons fans reactions to me suggesting a Michael Penix Jr. for Maxx Crosby trade, before Penix had thrown a ball in the NFL, made sense. The Falcons were 3-2 and Kirk had just thrown for a franchise record 550 yards, meanwhile, Jimmy Lake's prevent defense was already showing signs of futility. The Raiders wouldn't have taken the No. 8 pick for Crosby straight up in a trade on draft night in 2024, but fast forward 6 months, and Penix was all of a sudden untouchable in Atlanta. Where would Atlanta be now, if they made the move? Probably restructuring Kirk's contract to lower his cap number, and angling for a QB in the 2027 draft. Still don't think the Raiders would have made that move though. Instead, they kept Maxx another 2 years and still got 2 first-rounders for him si.com/nfl/falcons/on…
