John Helldiver has arrived at the liber-tea party!

I was a fly on the wall at the Liber-tea event and more than once I go to witness something special… Helldivers (players) finally getting the chance to thank the AH devs/team and express what this game means to them in person. Small prepared speeches of gratitude of how Helldivers 2 helped pull them out or outright saved them from their hopeless places. Through friends and community they found a little piece of something that made them want to keep going. The devs were always gracious/humbled because they just made a game they thought would be fun. I doubt possibly being the catalyst for saving people’s lives was on their minds when they were drawing up gameplay mechanics. Lastly, their friends who reached out and invited them to play a game deserve a lot of credit. An innocuous invite to a game may be all the difference needed to help them through whatever they’re struggling with. Great memories indeed.

@tylerdoesmusic Pretty much anything that's melodically based, or needs complex planning, I'll notate first on paper! It's just much faster for me than anything on a computer, where I can easily get bogged down with a million production details.

@WilbertRoget Do you do this for all your themes, or did it just feel right to do it for the automatons haha

"If you have all these great musicians in the room, let them do their thing. Let them play." Blanchard has been one of my biggest influences the last several years because of this mentality - clarity, melody and fluency in the writing, letting the performers enjoy themselves!
