any eternus player want to coach me? i want to get better

i am actually concerned Valve does not like what they are seeing right now because Reddit is convinced urn needs to be purely a comeback mechanic, rather than an actual game objective. With too many strong comeback mechanics, the game becomes a prison and games get drawn out

One thing is for certain: Deadlock is functioning 100x better when the losing team is not artificially propped up by random urn resist mechanics. Valve must realize at some point that the game cannot work properly if both teams hot potato an OP mechanic that you get from losing

@Hosses21 it already was a main game defining objective but since it didnt have a cool soundtrack and you couldnt punch it, many lower skilled players and uninformed people did not realize it was as important as it was. The actual value of the urn did not change until it got moved to 12m

Urn fights went from some what optional side objective with some trade off being a side lane left open To main objective that's unmissable and your whole team HAS to be there or you're throwing

@VegasDeadlock i was talking about last night how games that should be lost just simply are not ending, someone DMed me this last night and i think its 100% true. Half the lobby loses every game, and thats just how its going to be. This patch has hostaged me in lost games for too long

by the way this game was a blowout and was stalled for an hour because they kept getting comeback urn over and over again and even with a 60k soul lead comp diff made it impossible to siege can we fix the game plz

Eido (@Eidorian510) spoke to Deadlock Intel last night about his thoughts on @MeleeCreepsDL's victory against Floormen using the comeback Urn strategy, calling it a 'message to Yoshi': "The game is broken, fundamentally... this is not an opinion, this is just a fact, this game is broken competitively, it does not work, and it has not worked for the past week."

@froggy_dl @davidcroda because its legitimizing what they are doing which is not how the game is meant to be played, and the tournament is not worth enough money to care enough to adapt to something that will be in the game for maybe 12 more hours max

ranger said he had a plan to counter it if they went against it, if we knew about it going into it why did we have no plan and then forfeit the game, and then forfeit the series (after it was banned)

@GenericEdBoi they actually didnt have sponsors or branding for this week from what i could tell and they wouldnt have FFd if there was a sponsor like if this happened in the DNS Walmart Intel tourney they wouldve played it out

@yungcalc Because they have sponsors (DNS) and cutting their sponsors screen time short and leaving a bad taste in people’s mouth is no bueno

Deadlock comp players are real btw. Totally not baby raging right now and shitting on everyone’s viewing experience because.. ego? lol. Super lame. Maybe I’m just broke, but no shot I’m forfeiting 2 games for money like that.

@yungcalc Yeah man. Everyone’s gonna remember floormen for their high amount of dignity and courageous forfeiting. So brave, so powerful! Beyond an iceberg video I doubt anyone will ever care about this for more than 2 days.

@GenericEdBoi why bother to ruin your dignity over $1,250 split amongst 6 people? They are trying to compete in the game long term and putting yourself through that level of frustration is just not good or ok for anyone, the players have dedicated infinite time and effort and they care a lot

@yungcalc Mental anguish is when you agree to play a game with epic bugs like falling through the map and losing a tournament over it. It’s totally valid to be mad and whatever, but let’s fucking play the game no? Cut the baby rage in half and go next game with the new rules.

didnt want to abuse it because it would be banned and lead to a DQ most likely, but i guess not. O well at least now Valve can fix this blatantly obvious oversight for next time. Thank God this is all thoroughly tested in their hidden experimental server 🤣 GG's!

Valve turning the Urn into another punch/parry minigame is really boring and they are effectively running their golden child mechanic into the ground by making it the ENTIRE game. Deadlock feels like a party game disguised as moba with this rework. Stop overusing ur good mechanic

@aimdr2w not exactly sure why they thought that not letting people pick the character they want to play was a good idea, especially if you are trying to learn a new hero that youve never played before you literally cant get it

the worst part about the eternus forcing 2/3 prio is that i’m a student & work part time. its a dice roll to get the character i want for the 1 game i play daily man

@gigxbit maybe you are speaking for yourself but the urn was a game defining objective every 5 minutes last patch too, but now its ontop of midboss and 50% resists for comeback so its just overwatch

@yungcalc the patch is not bad, urn changes are unfinished, the idea is good and what they should fix is the numbers/slightly change the mechanics, the old urn was very bad, people who play this game are just not particularly smart and didn't abuse the urn before for whatever reason

We seem to agree the new Deadlock patch is bad, and I have given the feedback that every game is forced even gold every 5 minutes along with a 6v6 (street brawl). We assume the devs will fix it, however the more terrifying thought i had is: What if they like what they see?

@Lile1f @gabefollower No? I dont care about the patch releasing on the day before the tournament but the Feedback from the players who are playing in them should be listened to when it comes to the content of the changes and patches, Gabefollower is making it sound like its wrong to give feedback

@yungcalc @gabefollower Maybe they shouldn’t be hosting tournaments with money prizes for games that aren’t out yet and still in active development then. lol Want them to stop developing their unreleased game for tournaments they had no say in?
