Most churches treat social media like a magazine. Every post has to be perfect before it goes out. But the churches connecting on social treat it like a group chat. You do not script every sentence before you talk to someone. You just talk. Post like that.

- We lose great staff members because they are tired of leading through dopamine rushes.

I grew up in West Tennessee. Steve Gaines was hero to the entire region and spoke at many of our churches and men’s gatherings. He influenced many of us to be pastors. When I began pastoring, he sent me a book, not on pastoring, but on prayer. That’s who he was.

How is the church doing? On here it feels like it’s anxious and unwell. On the street level, God is moving. I’ve gotten to meet with and talk to pastors from everywhere over the last few months and the resounding sentiment is: growth, baptisms, & healthy membership.
