When I released Binary two years ago, the goal was to explain how sex is universally defined across species and debunk common sex spectrum arguments. It became a #1 bestseller in Biology. Now my latest book, The Sex Development Handbook, maps how sex develops in humans--from typical development to more than 25 DSDs--with each spread featuring a color-coded diagram and engaging commentary. Recommended as an essential read for high schools, colleges, and graduate schools, the handbook shows each human, even those with rare disorders, develops as a male or female, integrating real-world clinical practice into an accessible guide for a wide audience! 3/ HeCheated.org has been analyzing the performances of high school boys in "girls'" track and field. I've looked previously at how they place in girls' competitions, but what about their performances compared to all female athletes? Using the athletic.net rankings, I mapped out the performance distribution of all high school female athletes in both the high jump and the 400, as each event has had a large number of males participating. I then plotted the best performance of each male athlete who participated in the girls' event at least twice. In the high jump, we can see that all but one athlete performed in the top 25%. Of the 13 athletes, 6 (46%) were in the top 10%. 3 boys (23%) were in the top 5%. The single boys who was below the median participated only twice in the high jump, and had tried many other events as well. This is significant as high jump is an event that also relies on technique. An athlete who has only tried a couple times might not do well even if he had a higher vertical than other athletes. Puberty blocking (the purple data points) did not make any noticeable difference in high jump performance compared to other boys.

The sex binary is a near universal phenomenon across the plant and animal kingdoms. 95% of animal species have a familiar expression of it: male and female in separate individuals for life, a system known as gonochorism.

Story time for the US, UK, Europeans, Australian peeps from a child of immigrants When I was a kid, if something was low stock at a store, or missing in the house, my family would immediately assume it was stolen "Ah, that's because someone stole it" "I know someone stole this! Which one of you was it?" Born in the US, and exposed heavily to US culture, I thought it was insane to jump to that conclusion I also sometimes saw them squirrel things away like all the butter or jam packets at a restaurant I also saw my mother and uncle steal from their mother and grandmother All of them looked so gleeful like it was a game. I didn't understand it But this is the culture they were from. Cuba, like most other dysfunctional cultures is a polychronic culture In a polychronic culture, when you can steal and get away with it, it's not only normal and expected. It's also seen as clever, so it's rewarded with praise by the people who benefit Being stolen from is seen as deserved because it means you were foolish enough to trust and let your guard down This is also why SA isn't taken seriously in a lot of these cultures unless heavily influenced by something orderly like Christianity That's why these women are stealing and they don't think it's a big deal. It's why they steal so much. It's expected and rewarded in their culture They can't imagine why it's wrong. They were never taught to consider others or consequences in the way that a monochronic culture does Yes, polychronic and monochronic cultures are more a reference to time, but it ultimately influences everything else in that culture and vice versa - the culture influences time management The point of the story is this - they will not change unless forced to via consequences. Instead, they will force change on your culture with their behavior that they spread and maintain Keep that in mind, behave and vote accordingly
