And each time it happened, he would say, Yo wa. Like it was some kind of joke to him. That was when I clocked it. Because now, it wasn’t coincidence anymore it was a pattern. Then he said something in Hausa, something like, Maigida… akoyi dadi… didn’t even fully understand it, but the tone? The confidence? It confirmed everything my instincts had been whispering. This man knew exactly what he was doing. I didn’t say a word. Instead, I quietly reached for my scarf pin the one holding my scarf neatly in place all day. I loosened it, took it out, and held it carefully against my chest. He braked again. The moment my body moved forward, the pin met his back. Sharp. Immediate. He jerked and shouted, wayo Allah 🤣 I almost fell from the bike but alhamdulilah 🥹🤲🤲 He didn’t try it again for the rest of the ride.
