I am pleasantly surprised at the energy on the ground in Cape Town. Young people are all eager to register and vote DA. They are tired of the corruption and the smear campaigns, and even more surprising is that they no longer want to vote for smaller parties who offer nothing. Dear South Africa, @Our_DA had a successful elective Federal Congress. People put themselves up to be elected- some were elected and some were not - all of them great people. It is unfair of people to expect the DA to orchestrate the outcome of an election so that it’s diverse.
Geordin is the chief enforcer of the apartheid spatial planing in Cape Town. To hell with all you fan girling and boying over him. He is the reason black graduates and first time workers can’t afford to live in the city.
She doesnt want to fix Joburg. There is nothing more to extract or grow in the WC. Joburg doesnt need fixing, it has a GDP bigger than the whole WC. The DA wants the riches of Joburg. Since they told us so, they have ran obvious campaign to create the idea that Joburg is broken
The new DA leader is more dangerous than John or Mmusi. He has a full grasp of Mmusi’s policy direction and understands why those policies were pursued, while also embracing Helen and John’s strategy of consolidating the base first. That is reflected in who they elected - A combination that could prove to work for DA, and should concern other political parties.
