IMENTI SOUTH CONSTITUENCY, MERU COUNTY, KENYA

The Government is pleased with the quality of works and timely completion of the newly tarmacked Nkubu- Rubiri - Kamurita road at a cost of 630 million shillings.
The 11 kilometer crucial transport artery will spur economic growth and improve the livelihoods of farmers and traders, and it will ease the movement of goods and people.
The Government is also connecting all the remaining homes and businesses in the area with electricity supply to ensure a complete economic turnaround and increase productivity for the local community.
Inspected the newly constructed Nkubu- Rubiri Kamurita road and the ongoing Rubiri Village Last Mile Electricity Supply Project targeting 85 households, part of the 2.3 billion last mile connectivity project aimed at connecting an additional 26,500 households with electricity supply in Meru County.
Later on addressed residents of Rubiri Market to update them on the various interventions that the Government is making to improve their standards of living.
Priority will be given to the tarmacking of the Kionyo- Kanyakine- Mitunguu road and the equally vital Kieni Kia Ndege- KK Mworoga- Maraa- Kithino- Mitunguu road.
Additional milk coolers will be supplied to milk farmers in the area and Nkubu and Mitunguu Townships will get 240 million shillings to upgrade their respective urban road network.
With Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma, Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi, MPs Dr Shadrack Mwiti (Imenti South) and Moses Kirima (Imenti Central), MCAs, other leaders and residents.

NYAHURURU TOWN, LAIKIPIA COUNTY, KENYA

The Nyahururu Town skyline is undergoing massive transformation through the construction of 955 housing units at the Starehe Affordable Housing Project and 850 units at the Asian Quarters Project, creating thousands of jobs for artisans, masons, plumbers, craftsmen and engineers, increasing household incomes and stimulating the growth of grassroots economy.
In total, 15 billion shillings has been allocated for construction of affordable housing units and modern markets in Laikipia County. The 13 markets include the Nyahururu Town Modern Market that will cost 400 million shillings, providing a decent, safe and conducive environment for small-scale traders to transact business.
To enable traders and farmers access markets with ease, reduce post-harvest losses and increase earnings from the agricultural sector, the Government is tarmacking 217 kilometers of new roads in Laikipia County. This includes the Nanyuki-Doldol, Kinamba-Matwiku and Rumuruti-Mutara-Nanyuki roads and other access roads in the County.
With President William Ruto on an inspection of the Starehe Affordable Housing Project, and interacted with residents of Nyahururu Town, updated them on the progress of ongoing development projects and received feedback on their priority development needs.

DOLDOL, LAIKIPIA NORTH CONSTITUENCY, LAIKIPIA COUNTY
FRIDAY, MAY 8, 2026
The Government is accelerating the implementation of equitable, strategic and transformative development projects and programmes across the country, create millions of jobs and income opportunities and improve the quality of life for every citizen.
In Laikipia County, projects worth over 20 billion shillings are underway, including an investment of 15 billion shillings in affordable housing projects, student hostels and construction of 13 modern markets.
To facilitate faster, safer and cost effective movement of people and goods, the Government has allocated 4 billion shillings to the construction of the 60-kilometer Nanyuki-Doldol road. This is part of the 217 kilometers of new roads that will be constructed in Laikipia County to stimulate grassroots socio-economic growth.
Access to quality, inclusive and relevant education is a priority for the Kenya Kwanza Administration. Five new schools will soon be constructed in Laikipia North Constituency at a cost of 60 million shillings, to decongest existing schools and reduce the distance covered by students in pursuit of education.
Joined President William Ruto in Laikipia North Constituency, as he laid the foundation stone for construction of Doldol Huduma Centre, handed over a bus to Kurum Day Secondary School and outlined priority development projects underway during a public sensitization event.
