When the radical left can’t win via democratic vote, they abuse the legal system to jail their opponents. This is their standard playbook throughout the world.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Conversation with his Lawyers and Representatives of Media at Adiala Jail January 6, 2025 "I have witnessed all Martial Laws imposed on Pakistan during my lifetime, including those under Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zia-ul-Haq, and Musharraf. The Martial Laws under Yahya Khan and Zia-ul-Haq were the worst in Pakistan's history, where democracy was completely crushed. In this regard Musharraf was relatively liberal. What is happening in the country today in the guise of democracy can only be compared to Yahya Khan's era. In order to ensure that no one raises their voice against the ruler's transgressions, the first targets in a martial law are democracy, independent judiciary, and free media. Free media is silenced because it criticises, and the judiciary's powers are curtailed because it has the authority to take action against injustices. Under the facade of a so-called democracy, all these fascist measures are in full effect today. What kind of democracy is this where the name of the chairman of Pakistan's largest and most popular political party cannot even be mentioned in the media? As revealed by the Hamoodur Rahman Commission report, Yahya Khan destroyed the country’s system to hold on to power. The same thing is being done today. In order to save the bogus and fraudulent government produced by Forms 47, PTI is being relentlessly crushed, and democracy, rule of law, and judicial independence are being buried. Shehbaz Sharif is nothing more than a puppet and an orderly of General Asim Munir. Even Shaukat Aziz during Musharraf's era was a more powerful prime minister because, at least, elections then did not witness the level of rigging seen in February 2024. This illegitimate but fragile group propped up by the fraudulent Forms 47 is a disgrace on the name of governance. The Al-Qadir Trust case, like previous cases, is being dragged on only to pressure me, but I demand its immediate resolution because, just as you were exposed in the Toshakhana and the Cipher cases, the same will happen now. The Al-Qadir case is entirely baseless and lacks any merit. I did not build a 'Bilawal House' but established a welfare institution in a remote village for the future of the nation's children. I did not, and will not gain even a single Rupee from it. The Al-Qadir Trust University is a charitable institution run through public support, just like Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospitals and Namal University. I want to make it very clear that I will not seek an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) like Nawaz Sharif and Zardari did. I will fight my cases in the courts. Bushra Khan has no contact with anyone. This is mere propaganda. Our negotiation committee is handling these matters. It has been six weeks since the Islamabad massacre, yet the government has made no progress in retrieving our missing persons. This highlights the government's lack of seriousness in conducting successful negotiations. Pakistan's economy is at its worst. The growth rate is zero. Artificially controlling the exchange rate of the Dollar is not an economic achievement. Development in a country only comes through investment, and investment never comes to a country where there is no rule of law, courts are not independent, terrorism is prevalent, and genuine public representatives are in jails instead of in government. Such a country can never progress."

An important message from Former Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the civil disobedience movement - December 19, 2024 “I had made two demands of the government: 1) Release of under-trial political prisoners. 2) The establishment of judicial commissions for transparent investigations into the incidents of May 9th (2023) and November 26th. These are both legitimate demands, and if the government does not implement them by Sunday, the first phase of the civil disobedience movement, "boycott of remittances", will be launched. In this regard, we will appeal to Pakistanis living abroad that the situation in Pakistan is evident to you; democracy, the judiciary, and the media has been stifled, and a period of oppression and fascism is ongoing. Therefore, we urge you to start the boycott of remittances. The courage and bravery with which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers faced oppression on February 8 and November 26 are unparalleled. PTI is the second party after the Awami League in 1971, to face such state oppression. However, despite this, PTI has made history by achieving historic victories in the elections and continuing its struggle until November 26th. November 26th is the darkest day in Pakistan’s history. On this day, unarmed people were shot at by snipers; young people were injured and martyred, and several individuals have been missing for three weeks. It is the government's responsibility to find the missing people. The government must answer: where are these people? Our people have made sacrifices for democracy. I direct Barrister Gohar and my parliamentary party to raise their voices in the assembly for these individuals. It is unacceptable that while blood is being shed in the country, the Parliament continues to function as usual. As long as I am alive, I will fight for an investigation into the massacre of these individuals and will not rest until justice is served. Families of the martyrs are grieving. I myself was deeply distressed when I heard about the shootings, and despite taking sleeping pills, I could not sleep due to the agony of knowing that unarmed people were treated so mercilessly. Those who did not even break a window or a leaf were directly shot. Our people were absolutely peaceful, singing the national anthem, they embraced the soldiers and yet were shot and mercilessly killed. This was what Yahya Khan did to the Bengali people on March 25, 1971. No other party in the country has been treated like this. I will not allow the memory of November 26th to fade for as long as I live. PTI's offer for negotiations was ridiculed, and it was made to look as if we had surrendered. The offer for talks and delaying the civil disobedience movement was made in the broader national interest. If the government shows no interest, we will not force negotiations upon them. Our offer should never be seen as a sign of our weakness. If the government still wants to prevent the civil disobedience movement, they must contact us regarding our two demands or convince us that these demands are unconstitutional and cannot be addressed. I have invited a negotiation team for a meeting in jail and provided their names. Now, we will see whether the government allows them to meet with me or not. The government repeatedly accuses us of targeting the country via our civil disobedience movement. Let them be reminded that it is not the country but the illegitimate Parliament: the (National) Assembly, and the Senate that emerged from electoral fraud, which are being targeted. This government did not come to power through people's votes but through a conspiracy. General Bajwa conspired against our elected government and caused Pakistan a loss of 42 billion Dollars. This government has caused immense damage to the IT industry and other sectors, which is why the public is disillusioned with it. The economy is in ruins, and the business class and capitalists are transferring their money abroad.”

Dear Elon Musk, @elonmusk I want to bring to your attention the dire situation unfolding in Pakistan. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan who is also a good friend of President Trump has been illegally detained for over 475 days, as recognized by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. The U.S. Congress has also expressed serious concerns, sending multiple letters to President Biden and passing Resolution HR901 in the House, where 368 members voted in favor and only 7 opposed. The resolution declares the February 8th elections as rigged and calls for an immediate end to human rights violations in Pakistan. For the past 10 months, the Pakistani regime has banned the use of X (formerly Twitter). Last week, when Imran Khan’s political party announced peaceful protests for November 24th, the regime responded with violence against party members and workers, blocked major highways nationwide, and is now planning to shut down the internet entirely. As the owner of X and Starlink, you hold a critical responsibility to support free speech and ensure internet access remains available, especially during such challenging times. Additionally, as a key member of the @realDonaldTrump Administration, your support for democracy and the rule of law should extend not only to the U.S. but to the global community. The people of Pakistan are looking to you in their time of need. Your voice and action can make a difference in protecting democratic values and human rights. Thank you. #ElonMuskXBaninPakistan
