But after months of living the high life, the guilt slowly ate away at him. Eventually Dan turned himself in… and confessed everything on national TV. In 2015, Dan was sentenced to 1 year in jail and ordered to pay back $250K.

Despite falling repeatedly and losing consciousness, her parents did not seek medical attention for eight hours after her final fall. The couple reportedly filmed the falls on their phones, laughing while the child suffered. Both were convicted of mansla*ghter and sentenced to prison. The case led to "Chloe’s Law," which allows authorities to intervene more quickly in cases where children are at risk.
