@StayHumble14 I think him and Tatum is 1A 1B. And if you look at players that have max contracts it is INSANITY to say JB didn’t deserve that contract lol. He wasn’t moved for his basketball talent. He was moved because him and the organization have issues

I disagree Tatum averaged a double double fam lol Derrick white yes but Tatum only played 16 games and came in averaging double double in the regular season and in playoffs and you could argue he had better games in the series they lost to Philly

@joashyaw Just go look at the numbers and watch the games. Tatum and Derrick weren’t good bro lol he was by far the best player on that team this year

@StayHumble14 But if we’re speaking playoffs, JB won that ring for them. He strapped Luka all series, picked up full court and killed everybody on the offensive end including huge clutch buckets. I’m not even the biggest JB fan but I have eyes.

@_Reasonofficial That’s not facts at all I watched the series but go ahead and look at they stats He may not of been as impactful late in the games but he shot better fg% Jaylen brown just shot better from the 3 and JB averaged more turnovers and actually turned over the ball more in total

@_Reasonofficial Y’all just don’t get it. Regular season is different from playoffs. He’s had chances to show he can be that guy but he has failed to prove it. And please don’t bring up finals mvp when he feasted on Luka and Kyrie all series while Tatum was the one actually being guarded.

This is just bad because there’s so much that data doesn’t show which becomes the context.
- who did Pritchard play?
- is his scouting report as heavy seeing that he’s not the star player
- how many of those games without brown did Pritchard play along side Tatum and what were those stats?
There’s more I could go into but at the end of the day Tatum was hurt, brown put up mvp numbers and let what was supposed to be a wash of a season to a 2nd or 3rd seed for yall. Tatum came back and shit crumbled. So if you’re going to trade em, get more than an old PG back

Absolutely. But when you factor in the looming supermax, the analytics, and the opportunity to add Paul George, it’s not hard to see why they made the move. Whether it’ll work is another conversation. But the logic behind it is pretty clear.
