What are your thoughts on the type of wicket we are seeing in kolkata? I love seeing fielders crowding the bat and the ball spinning big, makes for great viewing. Interested to hear how others see it.

@AaronFinch5 Either play a 5 day test match or reduce it to 3 day format. This is disgrace to cricket. Such type of pitches should be banned. Same for seaming pitches, too much of that also destroys test cricket.

@ashwinravi99 @AaronFinch5 Absolutely, by shutting out a few shots a batter can definitely score on such decks, just that one has to keep his ego aside.

@MousseOFreshe Yeah I agree with that. When I was growing up watching test cricket in India it was dominated by bat from day 1-3 and then bowlers had their fun.

@AaronFinch5 Maybe from days 3 to 5. But the pitch was falling apart from ball 1

@ashwinravi99 I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, every ball is an event though and watching players try and work out a way to survive is fun to watch.

@AaronFinch5 Hey Finchy, Bavuma clearly showed that this pitch was manageable with his sound defensive technique, defending on top of the bounce and not picking length as a batter is recipe for disaster.
