Yesterday, the White House approved the advancement of multiple pipeline projects carrying Alberta oil to the United States. Expanding pipeline capacity to the U.S. is something I’ve been advocating from this U.S. Administration since their last election. It has paid off! This is great news for Alberta and Canada. It has the potential to unlock hundreds of billions in energy investment for our province and country. We hope the federal government moves this fast when it comes to our pipeline project submission in June. Let’s get these pipelines built! The word cancer changes a life in an instant. No one is ever ready for the decisions that follow. That’s why we’re lowering the breast cancer screening age to 40 and helping cancer patients preserve their chance to have a family by funding fertility treatments through a new oncofertility program. Because every Albertan deserves hope, support, and a future beyond their diagnosis. See news release here: alberta.ca/release.cfm?xI…

It was a pleasure to meet with South Korean Ambassador Lim Ki-mo @koremb_canada. This has been a productive week for Alberta and South Korea, with new agreements that will strengthen economic ties and expand trade and investment. Korea has been a strong advocate for increased imports of Alberta oil. As a trusted partner, this reinforces the need to expand our export capacity, including a west coast pipeline. Thank you to the Ambassador and I look forward to what’s ahead for our growing partnership.

Thank you to the leadership of Hanwha Group @Hanwha_Official for their partnership and confidence in Alberta. Today’s signing marks an important step forward in strengthening our relationship with South Korea and creating new opportunities in energy, defence, manufacturing, and supply chains. Being the first province Hanwha has signed an agreement with is a strong vote of confidence in Alberta. This is how we attract investment, create jobs, and grow our economy.

I was pleased to meet with Korean Customs Commissioner Dr. Myeong-ku Lee to advance Alberta’s growing relationship with South Korea 🇰🇷. Today, we signed an agreement to waive South Korea’s 3% tariff on Alberta crude oil exports. This is a meaningful step forward. It removes a key barrier to trade, improves competitiveness, and helps position Alberta as a reliable global energy supplier. This agreement could increase Alberta’s crude exports to Korea to as much as 33 million barrels per year, adding up to $1 billion annually in new export value. A win for Alberta and Canadian producers, a win for our Korean partners, and a strong step toward long-term economic cooperation and energy security.

Youth employment is incredibly important to me. We must have entry level jobs available for our youth so they can earn their first paycheque and get their start in our workforce. Thank you to Minister Joseph Schow for taking me around Cardston recently and so I could meet the many hardworking young people in your community.

Finning has long been a leader in powering Alberta’s industries, delivering reliable energy solutions in some of the toughest conditions anywhere. Now they’re expanding that leadership into the next generation of opportunity. It was great to join their team recently to talk about Alberta’s growing role in AI data centres and the critical importance of dependable power to support it. With our natural gas, skilled workforce, and competitive environment, Alberta is positioned to lead and companies like Finning @finningcanada will be at the centre of that growth.

A major shift is underway. Some who once supported giving hormones to children to medically transition their gender— are now reversing course. When it comes to protecting kids, Alberta will continue to lead with courage, evidence, and common sense.

Cardston has been relying on the same hospital since 1959. This week we changed that. Our government is moving forward with a brand new Cardston Health Centre, a modern facility that will deliver faster emergency care, better services, and improved access for families across southern Alberta. This means fewer long drives, more care close to home, and a stronger health system for the region.

The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village holds a deeply meaningful place in Alberta’s history and in the hearts of the Ukrainian community. While fire recovery continues, our government is proud to reopen the Village this May to ensure Albertans and visitors can continue to learn and celebrate Ukrainian culture and heritage!

Today was about hope, because everyone deserves a path to recovery and a chance to come home to their families. I was proud to attend the opening of the Blood Tribe Iitakamotsiipiohsopi Recovery Community, along with Ministers Rick Wilson @Richard4Alberta and Joseph Schow. This is the first of five planned Indigenous-led recovery facilities of its kind in Alberta. Together, these facilities will offer 375 recovery beds and help thousands of people access long-term treatment at no cost.

The Notwithstanding Clause is integral to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and an unassailable provincial constitutional right. Alberta Premier Peter Lougheed insisted it be included to protect the autonomy of provinces to uphold the values and priorities of the people they represent from decisions of activist courts. In Alberta, we have used it carefully and lawfully to stand up for the parental right to be involved in their children’s lives, to protect children so they can make important health decisions as adults, to ensure fairness in sport, and to keep students learning in the classroom. We are extremely disappointed that Minister Sean Fraser would risk national unity and a foundational principle of our constitution by attempting to attack the use of the notwithstanding clause by sovereign provincial governments.

What an electric night in Red Deer at the UCP leader’s dinner. Kicked things off with a big hug from legendary Albertan Tom Jackson and wrapped it up surrounded by over 1,000 great friends, good conversation, and a shared belief in Alberta’s future. Thank you to everyone who came out and to the many supporters and volunteers who continue to give their time and energy to our United Conservative movement and the principles we stand for.
