"The Samplers all tell a story about the girls who stitched them and about how they wanted to project their image out to the world." A new exhibition has gone on display at @AbdnArtMuseums, showcasing sewing and embroidered pieces from as far back as the 1700s.

To mark the start of my @AbdnArtMuseums project transcribing all 50 yrs of diaries belonging to swashbuckling Scottish-American artist James McBey here’s an example of a coded entry he made in April 1913. It’s a mystery - unless you can crack the cypher! Which I can. Thankfully.
