Interactive session with cities from Konkan Division led to a candid discussion as to what are their climate risks, vulnerabilities, priority projects, challenges as well as opportunities. @WRIIndia anchored the discussion at my office.

Wonderful to participate in the National Conclave on 'The Role of Panchayats in Gender Responsive Climate Action' organised by Asar at Yashavantrao Chavan Centre, Mumbai. Connecting to grassroots and listening to their voices is important for Just and inclusive climate action.

It was great to attend the celebration of success stories of ULBs organised by @AIILSG_Official and Mazi Vasundhara Abhiyan on #IFAT platform today. Kudos for documenting good practices which can be emulated and shared.

Joy to visit beautiful city of Thiruvananthapuram nestled in the green expanse of India's emerald coast to attend #Shoonya EV Conclave hosted by @NITIAayog , @KSEBLtd and @RockyMtnInst. Amazed at Kerala's achievements in ev adoption for 3 wheelers and charging Infrastructure.

Thane Municipal Corporation celebrated the international clean air and blue skies day by organising a workshop of officers, engineers, teachers and students. Remarkable work by its Environment Department in abating pollution through clean air initiatives. @TMCaTweetAway

Honoured to address a novel COP, the #Conferenceofpanchayats at Nagpur. Convention of Sarpanch organised by Asar and it's partners @waatavaran ,@yuvarural and PDAG sought to hear voices from the grassroots and address challenges faced by farmers in view of climate change.

The second workshop discussed climate cobenefits of SUP ban. We had highly interactive sessions with active participation from Dy Commissioners and excellent presentations from the GIZ led Consortium partners, CEEW, Oxford Policy Management Ltd and Perspectives Climate Group.

As part of Indo-German collaboration, Maharashtra has been selected to develop methodology to assess climate co benefits of schemes which are not apparently climate schemes. The first workshop discussed benefits of urban forestry in Pune, Nagpur. GIZ led Consortium supported it.

The Decarbonisation Workshop organised with the support of CEEW convened senior officers from energy, industry, transport, and forestry amongst others. Experts guided about posdible strategies and likely scenarios for the future.

Brainstorming workshop was held with all senior officers of the department as well as the MPCB to finalise the contours of the department's vision document for Maharashtra 2047. Valuable inputs and suggestions were given.

Having formed the City Climate Action Cells, we need to build their capacities. State Climate Action Cell and Transitions Research jointly launched Monsoon Academy to train officers from the AMRUT cities. An orientation session of the trainees was well attended.

Hon CM has approved the concept of setting up the River Rejuvenation Authority for the state. The proposed Authority will aim at pollution abatement as well as river conservation. It will be a unified Authority which will lead to an effective inter departmental coordination

Data Jam highlights participatory planning and data driven decision making

Datajam workshop was an exercise in peoples' participation in heat action planning. Citizen groups, think tanks and students participated with enthusiasm highlighting the underrepresented citizens' view. Presentations were made to BMC officials on Mumbai's most vulnerable wards.

Thank you my old friend Abhijit Ghorpade, senior environmental journalist and the founder of Bhawatal for organising the event which saw participation from diverse set of people.

Bhawatal Foundation, Pune invited me to speak at the Bhawatal Talk on Climate Challange and Us. Renowned climatologists Dr Roxy Mathew and Dr Vineet Singh presented how climate crisis is aggravating every passing year underscoring the need for an immediate action.
