@BruceArthursAZ Gas with ethanol degrades more quickly because ethanol attracts water (a bad thing for gasoline, but a great thing for mixed drinks). Eth-free gas isn’t all that common here — I had to go look around for stations that carried it; luckily, there’s a place near me that has it.

@AccordionGuy I knew gasoline degraded over time, but hadn't been aware the ethanol version degraded faster. Is eth-free a common option in hurricane country, or only at certain stations?
