Great news Alberta! A critical milestone has been reached under the Canada-Alberta energy agreement (MOU) so that our province can expect approval from the Federal Major Projects Office for actual construction of the West Coast Pipeline on or before September 1, 2027. When achieved, this would be the fastest approval of a major oil pipeline from Alberta in a generation! This project will deliver 1,000,000 new barrels of Alberta oil every single day to new Asian markets, creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and generating a phenomenal amount of wealth for Albertans and Canadians for decades to come. And just as importantly, Alberta has successfully fought to permanently end Justin Trudeau’s punitive oil and gas production cap and roll back his absurdly high industrial carbon price to a much more realistic level that will save our job creators over $250 billion and protect the livelihoods of Alberta workers. This is what happens when Alberta stands strong.

With the Andes hantavirus outbreak generating significant media coverage, I want to reassure Albertans that the risk in our province remains very low. There were no Albertans onboard the MV Hondius cruise ship. Unlike other jurisdictions, only two Albertans were potentially exposed while travelling on a flight. They remain healthy, symptom-free, and are isolating at home, with health officials checking in daily. Anyone else considered low risk has been contacted and is monitoring for symptoms. It is important to remember that person-to-person transmission of this virus has only been documented following prolonged close contact. There is no evidence that asymptomatic individuals can spread the virus to others. While the risk in Alberta remains very low, we will continue monitoring the situation closely to help protect Albertans.

Alberta’s physician workforce continues to grow strong! We now have 13,848 registered doctors in Alberta — an increase of 869 from this time last year. With growth across all zones of the province, our government will continue to strengthen Alberta’s physician workforce so Albertans get the care they need, when and where they need it.

BREAKING: A Presidential permit has been approved for a new bitumen pipeline that will initially deliver more than half a million barrels per day of Alberta oil to facilities and refineries throughout the United States. This project is a joint venture between two great Canadian and US companies South Bow and Bridger using existing assets. After years of advocacy from our government, and following the signing of the Canada-Alberta Energy Agreement last year, the federal government has lifted their oil and gas production cap. This means Alberta producers will be able to produce more of the oil that the world needs. It’s incredible to see that work already paying off with announcements like this. The US is our most important trading partner and we will continue to deliver energy to help secure North American energy dominance.

Today, I was proud to announce how our government is taking action to improve early cancer detection and help patients preserve fertility and build a family after treatment. By lowering the age for breast cancer screening to 40, more women will be able to detect cancer earlier—when treatment is more effective and outcomes are better. At the same time, supporting fertility preservation helps ensure that treatment does not take away a future beyond diagnosis, including the choice to build a family. I look forward to working on this initiative with Cancer Care Alberta and Fertility Alberta. Thank you to Dr. Shiela Apavoo, Michelle Chidley, and Katie Smith-Parent for sharing their expertise and lived experience, and for helping advance these important conversations for Albertans.

Can politicians grow the economy? I’m skeptical, but governments can create the conditions for growth. So, what have we done? We lowered personal income taxes down to 8%, saving families an extra $1,500 per year allowing families to keep more of what they earn. 💰 We secured a landmark energy MOU with Ottawa setting the conditions for new pipelines. 🛢️ We have also provided more certainty to ratepayers in our electricity market so to shield them from spiking prices. 💡 Our agri-processing investment tax credit is helping our farmers and ranchers get more Alberta products to market. 🌾 We brought down your rent by helping the private sector build new homes, faster. 🏠 A growing economy means we can strengthen our core services like healthcare and education, seniors care, and infrastructure. 👨‍⚕️ On top of this, Alberta is up 85,000 jobs over the past year. ⬆️ And we’re just starting.

Alberta parents want their kids focused on the basics at school. Our government is not backing down on this. The NDP don’t agree and based upon the “equity card” meltdowns from their recent convention, one can see why…
