Yesterday, during the Broadway play Joe Turner's Come and Gone, director Debbie Allen had to use the intermission to reprimand the audience for inappropriate laughter and cell phones ringing during the performance; Taraji P. Henson, who plays Bertha Holly in the play, spoke about the incident "Theater is not for punks, okay? Theater is for the strong. You have to have discipline. I love that it’s a living organism. You can’t do theater and forget the audience. That’s why every show is different. You’ve got to work through it. That cell phone ringing might make me throw my line. Sean Gathright’s lawyers are arguing that he should receive a life sentence without parole instead of the death penalty for the murder of Joolio Foolio, as a former prison warden took the stand to testify about how valuable Sean could be while incarcerated. “As a former warden, and even as a jail administrator, he’s someone that’s young, he’s healthy, in reality we need that labor, we need that sweat equity and we will put them out there to work… We put these young individuals to work and get some sweat equity out of them since they are young and actually could do the work”

A lot of mischaracterization is really just accountability avoidance. Some people need you to be “the problem” so they can justify their behavior. And sometimes people intentionally mischaracterize you bc it’s easier for them to talk about to other people.
