@techdroider Imagine you just bought a new laptop. You go to install Firefox on it or literally any other software you'd use and it makes you go to a hidden menu to say it's okay. But then you have to wait 24 hours anyway. That wouldn't fly. But here Google is doing that to your phone.

As expected, Google is making sideloading harder on Android… but it is NOT going anywhere Here's the new way in simple steps: • Turn ON Developer Mode in settings • Confirm no one is forcing you • Restart your phone and unlock again • Wait 24 hours, then verify with fingerprint / face / PIN • Now you can install apps (7 days or always) More steps, but you still have the choice

@WhiteHouse Damn, at first I thought Donnie might be growing a spine and standing up to Israel just a little. Until he said "yeah we know this was Israel's fault, but if you defend yourself, we're gonna bomb the shit out of you." Bibi still has him by the balls.

@Sparkpoodle1 I find it funny that fifteen years ago it was the left-leaning hippies drinking raw milk to be earthy crunchy and now it's the right leaning MAHA people.

again I just am peeved at this ongoing aversion towards 19th century advancements that have had an observable benefit towards public health for things that more natural just because they're natural.

@Sparkpoodle1 IMO its the homogenization that really affects the flavor. I don't typically buy raw milk, but we had it sometimes growing up and it does taste good. But non-homogenized but pasturized milk would be pretty great!

I did not expect this post to go viral but just to be clear I don't think selling raw milk should be illegal but A. I think it should be clearly labelled with a warning that there's a chance B. I still don't think it's worth it for flavor or probiotics (which can be supplemented)

@nafonsopt My favorite part is when Arch bricks itself, you ask for help and they're all "yOu SHoUld hAve ReAd tHe nEWs lEtTeR!" I shouldn't have to read a newsletter to keep my computer from self destructing. Also my Arch system self destructed AGAIN the other day (:

@nafonsopt Most distros use pre-compiled binaries for their packages. Unless you're using Arch with the AUR. I'd also have countered your point about updates breaking your entire system as also mostly an Arch thing. Except even Ubuntu does that now. So it's pretty bad... I agree with this.

For anybody saying "Just use Linux", you need to realise that Linux is worse than Windows. Windows has all the bloat, and while you can have Linux without any of that you still don't have tools like Remedybg, RAD Debugger and Super Luminal. Once you have such tools, then Linux is a suitable app development environment. But _it is still trash_ because of the whole Linux model of you needing to compile everything. The fact that you cannot run an app built using a newer version of glibc is an insane decision. I shouldn't have to upgrade my whole machine in order to run something built on a newer version. I shouldn't be worried that an upgrade will break my machine. I shouldn't be forced to compile things from scratch to work on my machine. I shouldn't be forced to install N packages, I just want self contained binaries I can just download and run. I shouldn't be forced to develop with an old distro to have "max glibc compatibility". I shouldn't have to worry about X11 / Wayland / Window Managers. I shouldn't have to worry about asking the user to select a folder, display a dialog or show notifications. Linux is such a huge waste of potential, if they got their shit together they would completely obliterate Windows. I first got into Linux in 2000, and even back then there was this "it will take over Windows any time now!". It's been _26 years_! The same way I'd pay quite a lot for Windows without any bloat, I'd be willing to pay for a distro that gives me all this.

@KeruboSk I wake up usually between 7-8 now. It's awful. So now I just shit post to Twitter before work. Oop here I am! But not waking up to an alarm is nice. I used to dismiss the alarms early on my old phone, but I haven't even set them on my current phone.

Apparently there are people who wake up before their alarm… and just get up. Just one alarm. No snooze. No struggle. Explain yourselves. How do you do that?

@niccruzpatane So, for that kinda drive, gasoline is good. Something like my PHEV is better. But a Tesla is excellent. Or any car that can use their infrastructure. Which is becoming more and more available to non-Teslas thankfully. I don't like a lot what Tesla does, but credit where its due!

@niccruzpatane So on that long distance point. We're talking road tripping. Driving all day. Yeah, EVs in general aren't great here, but it's not actually the EV that's the issue. It's the infrastructure. Tesla has their shit together here, sadly nobody else does. :(

Unless you’re driving 500+ miles per day, you don’t need an EV with that much range. The average person drives around 37 miles per day. Current Tesla offerings provide way more than enough for the vast majority of people. On road trips, I can usually only drive about two hours before I need to get out, stretch my legs, etc. During that time, my car charges. It’s not the inconvenience people think it is. It doesn’t make sense to lug around a huge battery when most people don’t actually use that capacity.

When Tesla’s get to 500 miles per charge; I’ll think about one. BTW there’s an app that allows Waze to work. 🙄 #thinkIdontknow? 🥱😑

Turns out this trimmer cap is absolutely TINY and requires a $36 adjustment tool because it's a 0.025" square. Another order into Mouser that'll probably be here tomorrow.

I put in an order with @MouserElec last night at 8PM, chose the cheapest shipping, and 12 hours later it's out for delivery. It blows my mind every time. Obviously living in Texas helps, but still that's incredible.

@kushika_twt Here's an idea: A whole home refrigerant loop. Have your HVAC, refrigerator and water heater all connected and manageing heat between themselves. The fridge can send heat to the water heater.

If refrigerators and ACs use the same cooling principle, why don't we just leave the fridge door open and cool the whole room?

@kathrynlopez True. I don't see that much of it though. The antisemetism that I do see though I think mostly stems from Israel trying to gaslight everyone into conflating Israel with Judaism. The result being people attribute actions of Israel to Jews and become antisemetic.

@ICEgov The irony of anti- immigrant storm troopers "celebrating" an Irish holiday.. lol. The best part is they won't get why everyone is laughing at them because none of them passed high school American history.

@Parodyjeffx Ah yeah, they give our politicians millions and return our troops home safely in flag draped boxes and all they ask in return is a measly several billion to fund their free healthcare, educational indoctrination and genocide as well the lives of Americans. What a great partner!

@AIPAC Pretty amazing how you’re just openly interfering in American elections at the behest of a foreign nation. So much so that you’re bragging about it. The American people are coming for you

@DanielH43564675 @AIPAC For those who don't understand the point of this infographic, AMERICA IS FUNDING THAT FOR ISRAEL. They have free healthcare and education paid for by AMERCANS. Meanwhile Americans struggle. Israel is a parasite.
