📌 Imām Mālik Negating Direction and Body for Allāh 👉 Imām Ibn Ḥajar al-Haytamī رحمه الله said: ❝Al-Qarāfī and others have reported from [Imām Mālik]... that those who say [about Allah] that He is in a direction or He is a body have committed disbelief, and they [these scholars] are right in that.❞ 📚 [al-Minhāj al-Qawīm, pg. 254]

📌 Mālikī Scholar: ʿAqīdah about Allah 🎙️ Shaykh Saʿīd al-Kamālī al-Mālikī حفظه الله 👉 The Shaykh in this video explains the true ʿAqīdah of the Atharī school, which is also the primary position upheld by the Ashʿarī and Māturīdī schools. Modern day “Salafīs” and “Ahl al-Ḥadīth,” despite claiming adherence to the Atharī school, present a distorted understanding of its ʿAqīdah by adopting literal interpretations of the attributes of Allah. ❌ This is the utter fallacy and blunder of the Salafī ʿAqīdah! Their extremism in taking the literal meaning of the attributes of Allah leads people into believing and imagining a body, face, hands, etc., for Allah! Whereas it is the ʿAqīdah of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah that Allah is free from any such attribution to created beings. Allah is the Creator Himself! 📌 Final Conclusion Therefore, there is nothing controversial in the statement of Mawlānā Rashīd Aḥmad Gangohī رحمه الله as the extremists claim. While the Qurʾān and Sunnah themselves command the people to follow the ʿUlamāʾ, and for the ʿUlamāʾ to guide people to the truth, Mawlānā Rashīd Aḥmad Gangohī رحمه الله, in his statement, is calling people to follow the Sunnah and to abandon Bidʿah which was prevalent in his time. Food for thought is why do those extremists, who misquote such texts to falsely accuse the ʿUlamāʾ of Deoband, not apply the same principle to similar statements from their own scholars? 📌 Bonus Question for the Barelwīs 👉 Amongst the extremists, Barelwīs are often at the forefront in making such false allegations about the ʿUlamāʾ of Deoband.
