@Meta has blocked the accounts of practically the last Venezuelan outlet doing original reporting. After @ArmandoInfo exposed how Maduro cronies are taking over banks, anonymous complaints flooded Meta, claiming the stories violated "author rights." How power in Venezuela works.

Here's an excerpt from a World Bank tribunal report: Chaves “commented that he liked it when she bent over, then proceeded to drop an item and ask her to pick it up for him." She was his direct subordinate. nytimes.com/2022/04/01/wor…

Solidarity with Costa Rican journalists. Back when Chaves ran for president our reporting backed up La Nación's scoops. World Bank demoted Chaves for sexual misconduct BEFORE, not after La Nación's stories. nytimes.com/2026/05/04/wor…

🎥 @ricardostuckert

This used to be the work of junior journalists. Aggregating other news stories, scanning press releases for newsworthy nuggets, cross checking with sources, checking facts, writing it all up… that was my job as a junior reporter for many many years. Doing that work taught me how to write and think. Now that AI does it, who will even have the chance to develop real journalism skills anymore? wsj.com/business/media…

María Corina Machado had breakfast off the Oval Office with Trump and Rubio last week for nearly two hours. But the hearty welcome belied a negative message delivered during the meal. Trump advised Machado not to return home for now. w/ @AKurmanaev nytimes.com/2026/03/12/wor…

I reported this story and have been working around the clock since Saturday to cover the deaths and obtain definitive evidence so that we can confidently assign responsibility. We've been reviewing photos of the dust covered bodies of children and verifying their names against the names scrawled on little coffins. We've been debunking false claims about the attack and that the harrowing cemetery photo isn't real. And while it appeared obvious to many early on that the U.S. or Israel hit the school, it takes days to sift through, pinpoint and analyze the evidence. It took four days before a new satellite image we ordered came through so we could confidently assess the damage and the types of weapons used. All that reporting and cross checking and the production of the visuals showing it takes time. But it ultimately allows us to more confidently assert U.S. responsibility, explain our rationale and add to the body of reporting that officials should be challenged with. It's easy to critique a headline, and I agree language matters, but you diminish the reporting. We're not justifying anything, we're stating where the reporting points responsibility, and quoting legal experts on the laws of armed conflict. Here's a gift link nytimes.com/2026/03/05/wor…

We obtained footage showing a man who appeared to be refugee Nurul Amin Shah Alam being dropped off by Border Patrol outside a Buffalo coffee shop after 8pm. The shop locks its door at 7pm. He never made it inside, and was found dead five days later: wapo.st/3OCwNx8

More journalists and media workers were killed in 2025 than in any other year since @pressfreedom began collecting data more than three decades ago. Israel was responsible for two-thirds of all press killings in both 2025 and 2024. cpj.org/special-report…
