The boarders enjoyed their annual Christmas feast weekend. It started off with a gingerbread house making competition followed by the feast and awards and and Christmas film. On Sunday after a pyjama breakfast we braved the weather and went ice skating at Hampton Court Palace.

The U10A drew 2-2 in their match, taking the lead twice before Highfield came back strong in the second half. U10B also took the lead in their match, eventually losing 4-3. Both matches were highly competitive and a super exhibition of how much the girls’ skills have improved!

The Artists in form 6 have been exploring contour drawing as a new way of looking - really seeing what they are drawing instead of relying on what they think they know. They created self portraits using one single line of black pen.

This half term the Form 5 children have been learning how to create coil pots. They have consolidated their understanding of joining clay securely, while experimenting with a variety of coil shapes to create the attractive swirly patterns. Next term thes pots will be glazed!

This year’s Christmas DT challenge was to design and make your own Christmas Stocking. As always, the children rose to the occasion and our doors are festooned with 90 individual and personalised stockings showcasing creativity & imagination. #christmasstockings
