On 9/26/20, Feda & Mu Amaliti lost their lives in a house fire after Feda ran into a burning house to rescue her adult son with profound autism. Their deaths might have been prevented w/ improved awareness of safety protocols in emergency situations. hubs.li/Q023lV3S0

Long-term minimally-invasive recordings from human neural #organoids & #assembloids have been challenging. Inspired by the art of #kirigami and as part of a close collaboration with @BianxiaoC’s lab in the @BrOrganogenesis, Xiao Yang and Csaba Forro developed flexible electronics that transition from a 2D pattern to a 3D basket-like configuration to accommodate the long-term culture & functional probing of #organoids and #assembloids in suspension. Took my younger (not autistic) son 2college today. These milestones R wonderful & such a privilege. Happy but always thinking in back of my head how Christian deprived of everything: getting drivers license, prom, college, living alone, falling in love, having his own family….
