Als creatinine at 2.6. Must get 1 more iv drug; get main line removed from neck, get 1 last training & we're sprung! No certain time given.

Hard night for Al after steroid for rejection. Needs 2 units of blood. Dr. K wants to discharge tomorrow: home healthier than hospital.

Al has mildest of rejections going on in kidney. Doc not worried. 2 more days in hospital w/steroids to chase his lymphocytes out of tubules

Last night was 1st night of good sleep (due 2new personal palatial quarters?) Al looking cute &fresh in hospital pjs

How to say? After many days of remedies in that direction, digestion has begun!!

Al is in rm 627 now. King of his own castle (as Rev Horton Heat would say). Liberated from roomie mean to nurses.

Biopsy checks for rejection. Not ideal but early detection best. In most cases 3 days of steroids can save kidney. Biopsy results tomorrow.

Doc says: we're holding Al 4safe keeping at hospital until Monday min. God bless the pros that are following him. Mo' oversight mo' betta.

Creatinine down to 3.1 from 3.7. Kidney biopsy ordered for am/routine & to check function. No food/drink before. Bowel friendly meds coming.

Ultrasound showed: no bladder blockage, no JP drain infection: both super news!

Word on street: no discharge until at least tomorrow. Ultrasound must be read in addition 2other hospital business like pharmacy training.

It's a beautiful kidney in the nhbrhood &super ultrasoundtech. We now need 2learn if blood flow is reduced anywhere.

Mixed signals or hospital efficiency? Even w/kidney under investigation, they are showing us a transplant discharge video now. Fingers x-ed.

Slept well but tired. Less incision pain, more localized pain around kidney. Praying it all normalizes & kidney+gastric pains will subside.

Creatinine went up a tad. Had clot in urine. They will ultrasound new kidney today. If any problem Foley catheter must go in again. Wincing.

The food is impressive here. Good going CPMC! San Francisco, we love your food even in this venue!

Milestones tonight: shedding walker, feeling higher mental acuity. But guts are like shy anemone: touch 'em & they recoil not wanting 2move.
