On this day back in 1983, the fans made their way back to Aberdeen from Gothenburg. My late dad captured some of the scenes on his old 8mm cine camera. What an unforgettable trip, memories that will last a life time. I slept rather well on the way home!

A new chapter begins for Muddy Bay. Lisa Manson has entered the studio for the first recording of her live version of the song for AON: THE GATHERING. Lisa is the third singer selected for the album, and now the third to record in the studio. It is another special step in a project built around real voices, real places and the stories that connect them. Muddy Bay draws on the strength, pride and heritage of Shetland, with Lerwick at its heart. It reflects a place shaped by history, community and tradition, including the enduring fire and spirit of Up Helly Aa. Lisa’s connection to that world makes this recording feel all the more meaningful. Lisa also chose Shetland Young Farmers as her good cause to support, and Finn Moray made a donation to the young farmer this week with Chloe Jamieson saying that it was great Finn Moray was supporting them and thanks to Lisa for thinking of them.
