Can’t wait to be using 𝕏 in 10 years to xeet angrily at a member of the Saudi Royal family about how he is mismanaging the Chicago Bulls worse than Reinsdorf while I’m inside an air conditioned basement with no windows because it’s 125 degrees outside in Portland with a 350 AQI

@KCJHoop So you do get a good job for like 6-10 years for sure with high security. But it will be your last job at that level and you will leave in failure like those before you. You cannot meet “Chicago Bulls” expectations with the current ownership.

@KCJHoop Mildly attractive. You also have to temper your expectations as management. You’re not running the “Chicago Bulls” like the market would dictate. You’re running them like they are the New Orleans Pelicans, cause ownership cashflow dictates this.

The Bulls enter offseason with lottery pick, potential second first-round pick depending on Portland’s play-in performance and potentially $65M of salary cap space, which could be league high. It’s a major market and ownership that doesn’t change leadership often. Attractive job.

The only way out is a Steve Balmer style owner. They need an actual billionaire who wants to own the team in part for the vanity of it. Someone with the money to go buy the team and then with cash to spare to run it. But does Chicago have anyone like this in its orbit?

With the Bears you see this with the stadium issue. Like Reinsdorf this is the McCaskey’s only source of wealth. They don’t have the cash to build a stadium in the 3rd biggest city in the world. Have to run away to cheaper Indiana.

The biggest problem facing Chicago sports is the ownership of their franchises. Both the Bears and Bulls are run by people whose only source of wealth is the team they own. They do not have the liquid cash available to operate like an actual big market teams.

@AdamSchefter Bears owner can’t build in Chicago because he’s a broke boy billionaire who has no liquid cash. He should sell the team to an owner capable of utilizing America’s 3rd largest city. Embarrassing.

The Chicago Bears will decide where to build their new stadium in the next few weeks, per league sources. If Illinois doesn’t pass legislation for Arlington Heights soon, sources believe the Bears are likely to be Indiana bound. Two proposed sites in Chicago are not considered feasible, per sources; next to Soldier Field for political reasons, and the land known as Michael Reese was evaluated and rejected by the NFL and the Bears.

@alsoconnor @PaulPastora @ChristopherHale The only thing left to debate is how far one takes “formal conspirator”…many of us wanting to include politicians that support the legalization of it and/or voters that vote on legalization measures and not just people that drive to the clinics.

@tuxenthusiast @ArshiaMoh @NathanJRobinson it’s true the US violates international law to such a great degree that others may stop bothering with honoring it. Let’s see how that goes for US combatants captured in Iran.

@alsoconnor @ArshiaMoh @NathanJRobinson What’s international law gonna do? Are the world police gonna come and take us to jail? You act like it has any meaning beyond a group of Europeans proclaiming how frightened and appalled they are.

Let's be clear at the outset: If Iran holds a US pilot, that person is a prisoner of war, not a "hostage." The terminology matters and we should insist that the media use the correct language for the situation.

@ArshiaMoh @NathanJRobinson Iran and the United States have both signed the Geneva Conventions my guy. It is international law. Doesn’t matter what some guys opinion online is.

@ArshiaMoh @NathanJRobinson Iran is a sovereign nation just like the US is one. When a government captures a foreign combatant on their soil, that person is legally a prisoner of war, protected under the Third Geneva Convention. Facts don’t care about your feelings.

@NathanJRobinson It’s “hostage”. When a terrorist organization hold a person captive, it’s “hostage”, not prisoner of war

There have been two days in NBA history, spanning 80 years, where at least nine games were played with an average margin of victory being at least 24 points. Only two such days. In 80 years. One was yesterday. The other was Sunday.
