Glaoigh ar 112 nó ar 999 láithreach má cheapann tú go bhfuil taom croí nó stróc ag teacht ort féin nó ar dhuine eile, nó go bhfuil tú féin nó duine eile go dona tinn nó gortaithe nó i mbaol báis.

All 999 calls are clinically triaged based on the patient’s condition. Obviously the nature and location of other calls are not known to people calling 999, but we ensure that the nearest and most appropriate response is dispatched, with the most urgent calls prioritised.

Injury units treat recent injuries that are not life-threatening and unlikely to need hospital admission. They can help with many of the injuries people go to the ED for, including slips, trips and falls🌨️ Find out what injury units can and cannot treat: bit.ly/47prS6F

If you or your family feel unwell and need some care, consider all the options. Only call 112 or 999 in cases of real emergency but do call us if you need us.

When calling 999 in an emergency, help us to speed up the process by answering some quick questions and following all instructions from our call takers. Answering questions does not slow down the help you need, but helps us get the information we need to prioritise your call.

Call 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance if your child becomes unresponsive when choking. The emergency calltaker will guide you through how to give CPR. If you see the object during CPR, remove it - never place your fingers in the mouth if you can't see the object.

Knowing your Eircode is great, but it's so important to ensure that you write it down and leave it somewhere obvious in case its needed in an emergency situation. On the fridge, by the phone.. as long as it's obvious, clearly visible and legible! Do it today ✅

I gcás an-chuid gnáththinnis laethúla, amhail slaghdán nó casacht, is féidir iad a chóireáil sa bhaile. Glaoigh ar 112 nó 999 má cheapann tú go bhfuil taom croí nó stróc ag teacht ort féin nó ar dhuine eile, nó go bhfuil duine éigin go dona tinn nó gortaithe nó i mbaol báis.

Our crew attended a call last week in Kerry, and even made sure the four legged family member, Teddy, got to check everything was okay before they left. Thanks for sharing this adorable picture with us, Niamh!

In the car today? 2025 has been described as a "devastating" year on Irish roads with 190 fatalities, so please slow down and stay safe. Put your phone down, never ever drive under the influence and always make a plan for getting home.

Venous ThromboEmbolism (VTE) is an uncommon presentation in a prehospital setting, but the most common preventable cause of in-hospital death. The ability to recognise VTE symptoms may be the difference between life and death for a patient. Watch: bit.ly/433QD7s

It involved transporting critically ill patients, critical care nurses, doctors, paramedical staff, the right equipment and a lot of communication. Thanks to everyone involved!

A stroke is a life-threatening medical condition. The word FAST will help you recognise when a stroke is happening and what you need to do. Call 112 or 999 immediately. The sooner a person gets treatment for a stroke, the less damage is likely to happen. ➡️bit.ly/3FvcSIN
