The trauma response known as fawning wears various faces: perfectionism, promiscuity, self-deprecation, workaholism. Two new books advise on how to “unfawn”—but what do we lose in the process? newyorkermag.visitlink.me/3RKHQg

Another court victory for @afriforum: The High Court in Pretoria today ruled, in an urgent application brought by AfriForum and a Pretoria primary school, that the Tshwane Metro may not proceed with cutting off electricity to schools in Pretoria whose property rates have not been paid by the Gauteng Government. The court also ordered that electricity to schools where it has already been cut must be reconnected immediately.
The schools targeted by the metro have paid their electricity accounts in full and have no control over the Gauteng Government’s failure to meet its obligation to pay property rates.
AfriForum regards it as a disgrace that children are being prejudiced by the state’s failure to fulfil its duty. This case is not only a victory for AfriForum, but for every learner in Pretoria.

Did you know Korea sells “one-a-day” banana packs?
Instead of every banana ripening at once, each one is at a different stage.
One is ready today.
The next one is ready tomorrow.
The last one is still spiritually in college, “experimenting.”
Simple. Genius. Solves the entire banana problem.
What do you think?
Would you prefer your bananas this way?
