NH ranks last in the nation for state education funding, and saw the country's second-largest decrease in public school teachers between 2023 and 2025, a 6.74% decline. New Hampshire's teacher compensation is “estimated to have declined by about 7% since 2017,” giving NH a national ranking of 42nd for teacher pay. NH students have a right to a quality education.
