Ardvreck School

Children in Forms 1 & 2 enjoyed a fantastic outdoor learning session, bringing science to life beyond the classroom. The focus of the session was gravitational pull and angular speed, with pupils exploring how forces and motion behave in real-world environments.

Children in Little Ardvreck have planted the seeds that they collected from a pumpkin last Autumn. We hope that the harvest will be bountiful and that we will be able to pass the fruits and seeds of our efforts on to the next generation of Little Ardvreckians!

We enjoyed a tremendous afternoon of music-making in the Crabbie for the finals of our House Music Competition. Children from Forms 1 through to Form 6 performed beautifully to our adjudicator, Sian Schutz. Every performer should take enormous pride in their achievement!

What an afternoon! Our annual Sixth Form vs Staff netball games were incredible, with the PJ Boys and Neon Girls taking on the teachers in games full of energy, laughter and some seriously impressive play. A fantastic Ardvreck tradition and one we look forward to every year!

Our Ardvreck Nursery pupils made the most of the beautiful spring weather for their weekly music lesson outdoors. Singing, clapping and dancing in the fresh air!

The concentration and focus was palpable! The results are a delight but the journey is key. Problem solving, skill development, creativity, decision making and designing are just a few things the Little Ardvreck children experienced during this activity.

Some of our Senior boarders enjoyed a fabulous trip to Scotstoun to see Glasgow Warriors beat Leinster 38-17. It was made doubly special meeting old Ardvreckian Seb Stephen after the match.

The Ardvreck XC team joined the Strathearn Harriers annual Cross Country race at Loch Monzievaird. Juliette took 1st place in the U11 girls and Theo and Finn battled it out for 3rd and 4th in a competitive U11s! A beautiful morning running in the Perthshire countryside!

It was perfect al fresco lunch weather! Children in Ardvreck Nursery enjoyed a delicious feast in their garden picnic area, making the most of the sunshine and fresh air.

Some of our pupils from Forms 1-3 competed at Morrison’s Academy bouldering competition. It was a fantastic event with some incredibly fun challenges!

Children in Forms 1 & 2 had an incredible day out on the trails mountain biking as part of their Adventure Friday.

Pupils in Forms 4&5 travelled to Edinburgh Festival Theatre to see ‘The Boy at the back of the Class’. It was such a treat!

Children in Forms 1 & 2, along with some other lucky pupils, enjoyed a morning of Food and Farming with the Royal Highland Educational Trust. Having discovered all about where our food comes from and how it is produced.

As part of Little Ardvreck’s Science project, the pupils went out to look for small creatures in ‘micro habitats’. They worked together to move rocks, lift logs, and search for tiny living beings - and found lots! 🪲🪱🐛🐜🕷️🐌

Another fabulous Arithmetic competition has been concluded for this year with winners proudly receiving their medals in assembly. A special mention to Little Ardvreck who joined for other first time and delivered some brilliant performances in the Under 9 category! #maths
