@FedProm the Condo HOA fees in Miami are insane. It makes zero sense to own. Investors stopped buying. Look up Mercedes building its in default. Aston Martin building already paying huge HOA fees and now they are already going to have to raise them. its a shxt show.

@AmanitaFugax I do. I had a neighbor in philly. She was an older woman who had retired and had done everything right, and paid off her home. When property taxes increased by 3x over...she couldn't afford to stay. You should not have to lose your home over an escalation like that.

I simply don’t give a fuck about someone needing to pay $400/month on their paid off home to maintain the roads, emergency services, schools, and critical infrastructure around their property.

A paid off house should actually feel paid off. When the average property tax bill is $4,427 and keeps climbing even if you didn’t sell, refinance, or magically get richer, it’s not hard to see why people feel like they never fully own the place they worked for.
