If they see stress every time money is mentioned, they notice. If they hear constant complaining, impulse spending, or financial fear, they absorb it. We are always teaching something. That’s why biblical financial stewardship starts with us first. Before we teach our kids about generosity, contentment, or wise spending, we have to model it ourselves. Our children do not need financially perfect parents. They need parents who repent when necessary, pursue wisdom, and faithfully seek God’s design for money. “Train up a child in the way he should go…” — Proverbs 22:6

Debt often allows us to enjoy tomorrow’s lifestyle today. But debt also transfers tomorrow’s income into yesterday’s decisions. Every debt payment limits future flexibility.

One of the easiest ways to boost your retirement savings is to get your employer match. If your company matches contributions to your retirement account, that’s part of your compensation package. Don’t leave it on the table. Even small contributions today can make a big difference over time thanks to compound growth. Take advantage of it.

Spending more money just to “earn” more credit card rewards is ridiculous. You’re spending an extra dollar to get back 2 cents.

One of the most expensive financial habits is the endless auto loan cycle. Buy a car. Make payments for years. Trade it in before it’s paid off. Roll negative equity into the next loan. Repeat. Breaking the cycle often starts with keeping a reliable car longer than culture says you should or get a much cheaper car you can purchase with cash. The goal is not just to eventually own your car, it’s to eventually drive without a payment. That margin can change your financial future.
