Two developments in aviation industry this year.1) Pmln govt privatised PIA because running airlines is not govt business. 2) pmln govt decided to launch air punjab because govt should run airlines! Can they please make up their minds if govt should or shouldn't run airlines!!!

Trump is looking at all options for opening the straits of Hormuz. I have a suggestion which is the least cost and quickest to implement: Stop the damn #IranWar you started!!!

Future development & security will depend on adoption of digital technologies. Country's which prioritize education and where citizens are allowed to freely think & express, carry out research and experiment will be winners. We are failing in each of these foundational blocks.

Pak govt has clearly articulated the threat we are facing from Afghanistan...cross border terror strikes killing innocent Pakistanis. But there is no clarity on our strategy for ending this threat beyond "if you don't stop, we will keep bombing your facilitation network" When has that strategy worked on it's own? What are the other elements of this strategy, if any? What are the negative repercussions of this strategy? Why isn't a national debate taking place? Why is there no attempt to create a national consensus on our strategy to deal with the cross border terror threat, which is real and growing?

The #IranWar is hurting the interests of every single country on the globe except one...Israel. How can the world allow this to continue? Not for #Irán but for the sake of the welfare of their own citizens, 8 billion people who are suffering increase in living cost! #İran

Chinese mediation to reach a Pak Afghan permanent ceasefire is best chance for success. Rejecting Chinese help, even politely, is a grave mistake. If this conflict continues on it's current trajectory we will regret this for decades. Force is NOT the solution for every problem

For 3 centuries Europe dominated the world. They occupied entire continents, colonized dozens of nations, expropriated their wealth and became fabulously rich. How the mighty have fallen. Meekly supporting an Israeli/American war which is gravely hurting Europe. Heavily dependent on imported energy, paying an enormous cost due to sharp increase in oil & gas prices. Watching their biggest security threat, Russia, getting richer daily and less isolated due to the #IranWar‌. An #Irán which poses NO threat to Europe. Yet all the major European powers except Spain lining up in utter subservience to Netanyahu and Trump. Amazed the people of Europe who are paying from their pocket for the consequences of war, allow their ruling elites to so blatantly serve foreign interests instead of serving the interests of their own citizens

Russia, 2nd biggest global military power, attacked Ukraine 4 years ago. War is still going on! While we hope & perhaps even predict, that war may end sooner rather than later, Pak Govt must take decisions urgently assuming war will continue. Otherwise it will cost us dearly

So called board of peace was supposed to ensure peace in Gaza. In 7 weeks since the supposed ceasefire on Jan 19, Israel has killed 648 innocent people in #Gaza or 13 people killed each day! Violence by Israeli settlers has increased since then against Palestinians in west bank

According to news reports Govt has told IMF that the war will not significantly impact Pak economy! Seriously? Instead of making a case for IMF to allow flexibility to minimize the burden of war on people, we are convincing them sab acha hai?? Here are the risks to Pak economy. 1) more than 25% of our total energy needs are met from oil & gas coming thru straits of Hormuz which is largely shut. 2) A 10% increase in oil prices raises our import bill by more than $1.5 Bn. Prices are up 40% currently and had increased to above 75% yesterday!! 3) We get $21Bn of remiitances from middle east and export $3 bn goods to ME. This is just what is directly at risk. The global economic turmoil from the war will have knock on effects on the entire economy. The Finance Ministry better hope the war ends very quickly. If not, they should go back to IMF and say we committed a blunder by saying there will be minimal impact of war. Then try and negotiate the best possible deal for people and businesses of Pakistan.
