The @AskBMSD is about to get a little brighter thanks to a new lighting system being installed in the Washington Park neighborhood. 💡The County's Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division is working with Florida Power and Light in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation lighting standards. Work on this phase of the project starts this month. During construction, traffic will be detoured during off-peak hours, with traffic officers on-site to minimize disruptions. 🚧 Work zone highlighted on the map below. *The project is funded by the Transportation Surtax.

Federal Transit Administrator Marc Molinaro conducted a federal site visit in Hollywood today, meeting with Broward County elected officials to discuss the proposed Broward Commuter Rail South and Miami-Dade Northeast Corridor Commuter Rail projects.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: MAJOR FLEET EXPANSION! 🚨 Broward County Transit has received the Commissioners’ approval to move forward with the purchase of 65 40-foot buses. And that’s just the beginning, with plans to initiate the procurement of 112 additional buses (65 additional 40’ buses and 47 new 60’ buses) — making this one of the most significant fleet modernization efforts in our history. And we’re already taking action: 33 leased buses will soon be on the streets to keep service strong.
