Utility rates in California should cover the cost to provide utility services, not pay phantom federal taxes that no longer exist. AB 2589 will return hard earned money to ratepayers pockets by instructing the CPUC to adjust utility rates to take into account corporate tax cuts enacted by the federal government. Today's approval by the Asm Utilities & Energy Committee moves this one step closer to reality!

Walking down a cereal or candy aisle, it’s clear the packages have been designed to attract kids. Unfortunately, the same can still be said walking into a licensed cannabis dispensary. With calls to poison control hotlines and ER admission for kids ingesting cannabis still rising, my AB 2249 to reign in packaging that is attractive to kids is long overdue.

Alongside bills introduced by @AsmPacheco & @AsmJesseGabriel focused on K-12 coaches, we hope to expand the roster of people in the lives of our kids and young adults who have the skills to identify mental health challenges and refer them to services.

In 2021, I authored AB 1280 that was a first-step in preventing and combating hospice fraud in California. This, while the federal government all but eliminated its programs. Now the administration is trying to make political hay of it, while California continues to investigate and prosecute those defrauding the system and praying on the ill and elderly! gov.ca.gov/2026/03/24/new…

As work continues on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, here is another notification from Caltrans regarding an upcoming closure this week: 🚧 Road Closure Details Caltrans will implement a full daytime closure of Agoura Road between Rondell Street and Hydepark Drive to allow crews to safely perform concrete placement as part of the ongoing construction of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing. 📅 Date: 03/24-03/25 ⏰ Time: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Closures are weather permitting and may be rescheduled if needed.) 🚫 Access Restrictions No through traffic of any kind—including motorists, cyclists, or pedestrians—will be permitted within the closure area during the scheduled work. 🔁 Detour Motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 101 between Chesebro Road and Liberty Canyon Road. Detour signage will be posted along the route. Please allow extra travel time. 🚌 Free Shuttle for Pedestrians & Cyclists A shuttle will operate every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help pedestrians and cyclists navigate around the closure. • Eastbound: Pick-up at Dorothy Drive & Chesebro Road → Drop-off at Liberty Canyon & Agoura Road • Westbound: Pick-up at Liberty Canyon & Agoura Road → Drop-off at Dorothy Drive & Chesebro Road Thank you for your patience as this important wildlife crossing project continues to move forward.

I’ve introduced AB 1938 to help communities identify State Surfing Reserves, a designation that will help highlight the long history of surfing on our coast and foster support for the communities who make our local costal economies a vibrant part of our state.
