That’s me just done heartbreak Hill. Started the first lock at 7:20 this morning and came out of the last lock at 2:10 this afternoon. Not too bad considering it’s 26 locks and I’m single-handed. #Boatsthattweet

CRT has just announced Bosley locks will be-open at 10am. Had they given any advance notice at all, I might have been able to make it down and get home😢

Just wondering how this is going to work? The canal there is closed at the moment because of low water (unless I’ve misunderstood the closure notice). So 50 boats might be a bit tricky.

@NBMorning_Star It looks like it's possible to use the canal as a free dry dock in parts, and get some blacking done! Seriously though, pretty drastic state!

Today’s 17 mile walk from Leeds to Bingley along the Leeds and Liverpool. The canal is in an awful state with growth taking over due to no boat movements.

Hmm. So tried to go into the lock with a boat already in it. Tried to go in it once empty but couldn't so paused for tea and cake. Tried to go in with lock full of water AND a boat in it whilst bouncing off the bottom gates. Good job they had a #FullAndComprehensiveHandover

While many of us are enjoying the hot weather, our network is facing water strain after the driest spring since 1893 and continued drought. Although the majority of our network is open and navigable, certain canals currently have restrictions in place. 1/3

She'll be stuck to using a car now

@ladbible Actually it’s a towpath not a footpath or definitely not a cycle path in fact I’m certain you should have a permit to ride on a towpath.
