The artist behind @thebeaksart it is Dima Kashtalyan (@DKashtalyan), born in Minsk, now living in Warsaw. He’s 38 and has been making art for over twenty years, starting as a teenager painting graffiti on city walls, eventually developing a dense, obsessive dotwork and pointillism style that’s completely his own. His resume speaks for itself. Illustrations in The New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, MIT Technology Review. Shows at Art Rotterdam, Art Taipei, Bankside Gallery in London. Solo exhibitions. A working artist with a real career, stepping into Web3 on his own terms. The Beaks is his first NFT collection. 1,111 pieces, generative, launching on Ethereum via OpenSea. That number is fixed, no expanding supply. Two characters have been revealed so far, each with its own feel and personality. Two more are still coming. Dima calls it “my own universe.” The pieces are surreal, bird-like creatures, each one built from his signature dotwork, each one carrying something personal. Emotions, beliefs, his take on the world. The tagline is from the walls to the market, and that actually means something here. This art started on walls in Minsk. Now it’s on chain. Mint date and price haven’t been announced yet, but the project is already moving. There’s an art contest running interpret a Beak character in any medium except AI, and 30 winners get whitelist spots. There’s also a UGC campaign on Duce with 150 whitelist spots for content creators. The craft is real. The history is real. And the art shows it.
