Looking for people who can give firsthand accounts of lived experiences in the Kashmir valley. An attempt is being made to understand the impact of the abrogation of #Article370 and its effects on Kashmir. If you know someone or can connect to an authentic resource, please lmk

After nationalisation of trains in the UK, prices probably won’t drop and for those of us trying to get work done on trains, internet connectivity is either non existent or poor, at best but on the plus side, writers can write without distractions! #WritingCommunity #WritingLife

Seems like yet another empty initiative? Yes, it’s a helpline to lodge complaints but existing complaints don’t get noticed due to overflowing inboxes, bureaucracy + other issues. A dedicated helpline can organise the complaints but there’s still no guarantee of action

This is true and applies to patents too. People get the run around whilst trying to get patents approved especially if it’s an individual or a small entity applying. I have anecdotal evidence as opposed to quantitative data but this behaviour has pushed several innovators away

This is true ! One company I was involved with was trying to build a colling system for quantum computers ! The red tape, the babus were such a headache, the partners chose to move to another country. They were welcomed : in 20mins bank accounts opened the same day. All permissions were emailed within 24 hours and the exceptions that they needed were granted within 48 hours. @Iyervval

@BootsUK @BootsOpticsLinc How come customers are treated so badly despite paying for a rewards scheme? Why is it that we aren’t told about rules, our packages get redirected and held hostage until we book appointments which end up getting rescheduled whilst packages are lost?

@BootsUK Your opticians team have got unfair treatment of customers. People keep passing the blame, packages get redirected, appointments get cancelled at the last minute, customers being treated like they’re not a priority despite paying for services. Unfair and uncalled for.

@ninjaparticle Yeah and it’s one of those things that causes one to think. A lot of people say that AI just regurgitates what we feed it with but that’s not all it is, is it? Even if it is, why not be polite to it? Thanks @FryRsquared for the analogy

Whilst a lot of people are getting annoyed with Grok, it does seem as though Grok is still learning. I did, however, watch a short video by a Cambridge professor who said that LLMs are akin to improv actors at the moment. With the right prompt, they provide valuable answers (1/3)

I ended up partly writing what I wanted to independently but asked for help with the poetic expression. It helped, I picked an option I liked and it still ended the response with Jai Maa always. This isn’t the full conversation in the screenshots, just some highlights (3/3)

I tested ChatGPT with this line of thought. I asked for quotes on mothers by Shakespeare but wasn’t satisfied. So I asked for other English poets and eventually about Indian poets. Interesting thing - it ended its answers with Jai Maa and had a more enthusiastic tone (2/3)

Some years ago, an online interfaith event was organized by a Christian pastor on the theme of art in different religions. I was asked to present on Hinduism while others spoke on Christianity & Buddhism. When my turn came, I spoke about the iconography of Ardhnarishwara. I explained the Hindu (Shaiva-Shakta) understanding of the inseparable nature of the divine feminine and masculine; the composite of dynamism and stillness. I briefly refered to how the Hindu understanding of the Divine Feminine was at complete variance from the Male God principle of Christianity and other Abrahamic religions. As I showed slide after slide of Ardhanarishwara sculptures and paintings, I also showed my necklace pendant with Ardhnarishwara that I wore on the day. The audience was visibly affected, especially the women, and one of them said "This is so modern! I had no idea this existed in Hinduism". After the speeches, the participants were asked to go into different breakout rooms to discuss the points made. The keynote speakers were supposed to stay in the main room. However, I quickly jumped into one of the breakout rooms (to the shock of the pastor who was the moderator) and found the members were all discussing my presentation. They were astonished to see me there and started asking me questions about Hinduism and India. I had fun answering them. One Jew said he felt very repelled by the idea of idol worship. I asked him why, and whether it could be because of brainwashing from childhood. As I was explaining about murti puja, suddenly the pastor crashed into the room and requested me to return to the main room. It almost felt as if he was nervous that I would convert them to Hinduism 😂😂😂. Finally, when everyone came back to the main room, they said they did not have enough time to discuss Buddhism or Christianity because they were so fascinated by the Ardhanarishwara concept. Just a 15 mins talk by me on Ardhnarishwara had fired their imagination so much! I remembered what @RajivMessage ji had once said about how easily all the yoga and meditation gurus who came to America in the last 100 years could have converted people to Hinduism. They had an absolutely mesmerized audience but chose to adopt the classic Hindu worldview of pluralism and a distaste for proselytization. It has only worked to our detriment. Our generosity and kindness did not win us any brownie points; it only paved the way for erasing Hindu contributions to knowledge.

I've traveled with my mom in India 🇮🇳 for a week and here's what she loved about it ⬇️ It was her first time out of Europe and she doesn't speak English. She's heard a lot about the country from me, read in Polish media, yet everything around here was shocking. 1. The mundanests of things were an attraction - especially taxi rides and grocery shopping. She came with a mission to buy "curry spice" for my sister and couldn't believe there's more than one type. 2. She took approximately a billion photos of weeds and plants in the most random places - she was a gardener before retiring and was at awe with the vegetation here, with what in Europe are an indoor plants requiring tonnes of maintenance just growing our in the wild next to some highway toilet stop. 3. Unfortunately image of India in Poland is mostly portraying slums and overcrowded trains with people hanging on rooftops. Taking a perfectly on-time Vande Bharat debunked some stereotypes. 4. The same goes for Dehli and its green, beautifully maintained neighbourhoods. 5. Tech ecosystem blew her mind. In Poland we're so far behind in that regard, while here I've shown her that there's an app for literally anything she imagines + 6 alternatives from competitors. 6. In school, we don't have even half a less about India's history. Visiting Taj Mahal or forts in Jaipur was a eye-openning to what the country was for centuries, pre colonisation. 7. Lastly, obviously what she loved the most were the people. Though she couldn't communicate with them, seeing joy all around and having these little interactions was precious, as everyone was beyond kind and we've had 0 less-than-positive experiences. She's home now and I've heard that she hasn't stopped pitching India as an ideal holiday destination to the rest of the family. Well done, county 👏👏

Dear Jharkhand Tourism, @VisitJharkhand Earlier I refused your offer to promote Jharkhand tourism just because you people don't deserve it. Firstly ask your government and @JharkhandPolice to maintain the law and order in Jharkhand state. My Spanish rider friend has been burtualy gang rapped in Dumka, Jharkhand. It hurt me. Being a Jharkhand girl I'm ashamed. 😢 @DumkaDc @DumkaPolice @jhar_governor @JharkhandCMO @rashtrapatibhvn @HMOIndia @tourismgoi @PMOIndia #Jharkhand #Dumka #GangRape #Spanish #Tourist #Rider
